Welcome to my fiftieth blog!  I spent the morning perusing through my last fourty nine... and without sounding conceited... I loved reading and remebering each and every one.  As I was reading down memory lane... I came upon a recurrent theme... Hot Dogs!  I think that I'm obsessed with the " All american dog". No change that, I know I am!

Well there are worse things to be obsessed about... right?

Any hoo... I think the dog is a very appropriate blog not only for my fiftieth.. but also for the upcoming event in the Hood!

Every year around this time, we hold a neighborhood block party.  I'm responsible for this event, as, I started it 5 years ago... sometimes, I just don't know what I'm thinkin'!  Just kidding I look forward to this event, it keeps getting bigger and better every year!

Jim and I buy all of the staples and condiments for the Hamburgers and HOT DOGS!!!!!!! The rest of the neighbors bring a covered dish and their beverage of choice.  It still amazes me that every year we never have any duplicate dishes.

We provide outdoor activities for the kids.  Sidewalk chalk being the big hit with the little cherubs and some of the older... umm hmm... cherubs also!  Us older folk get to sit around and catch up on old neighbors and get to know new ones.  We play a little horse shoes, drink a little libations and laugh a whole lot!

Well this ends my Fiftieth.... and here's to fifty more!  Thanks again for reading!  Oh I added a pic of my newest little love... born September 9th... Kynslie Rose Baker!

My new great niece... Kynslie Rose Baker! sept. 9, 2011!

Congrats on 50!....... We do a building wide (100 apts) BBQ Memorial Day and Labor Day and an indoor Holiday Party the wek between Christmas and New Years. They have gotten so popular that we had to make it a deal where you have to bring a dish to get in. We pay for the paper goods and cutlery from the tenants association. We almost never get duplicates either........That baby is too cute!

That is funny, you are craving dogs and I was craving fried oysters after reading Cindy's blog about the southern round up! LOL:) I have frozen ice packs that I believe have gel in them. I get my MIL's insulin and they send them with the packs. I just toss em in the freezer. I just don't know if that would be enough to keep the dogs cold. E mail me and we can chat about it. Or I wonder if you contacted the company itself, would they send you some. They are right here in Los Angeles. Here is my E Mail if you want to talk about it Terry. pattypres2003@yahoo.com

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
