Well it has been 46 days of smoke free life in the Tripp household!

(await applause....)

At the beginning we had no idea how to fill our days.

Here's our day today...

7:00 am-  Jim leaves for work
7:30 am- My little angel arrives
8:00 - 5:00- our work day is a spectrum of Jim's sales managment and my fun Audrie moments.
5:30 pm - I have started to walk/run again. (yep I'm sore but I'll live)
6:00 pm -  we share our day scenario's ( it's so good to be me!) Jim's day sounded gruesome!
6:30 pm -supper!  We marinated a chuck roast yesterday for the grill! Jim did a great job!  (I saved the marinade in my recipe box)
7:30 pm - movie on NetFlix " Chasing 3000" baseball movie re: Roberto Clemente. We rated it 5 stars by the way.
9:00 pm - Tiffany brings homemade chocolate treats!!!
9:05 pm - That Chocolate didn't stand a chance... we started a Thomas Kincaid puzzle... one of our favorite artist!
10:45 pm - got the border of the puzzle done! Kisses - to the Hubby- High fiving our successes of the day!
10:46 pm - you know what happens next... gotta post this day! Two Rock Soup Blog!

Our day was filled minute by minute... without a cigarette interrupting... and the time has truly been filled by simple pleasures ... Life at it's best!  Family, Food, friends, and Chocolate!

WTG Terry! Thomas Kincaid? Love him but his puzzles are all I can afford till that Lotto thing hits. LOL I would bet a days pay that that roast tasted a lot better then it used to! Your senses are more sensitive. After I stopped smoking, 10 years ago, I could Smell a smoker from 50 paces! Yuck! You are already living longer then you would have if you had not stopped. You will be here for more walks, games, hugs and laughs, CHOCOLATE, with the ones you treasure most. And isn't that what it is all about? TAKE IT EASY and I will see you when I see you. Thanks for the update:)

Thank you Patty and Michelle! I just had to post. Jim and I have done a lot of things together... but I have to tell you... this has really been easier than we thought! It has also made us closer.. as if that was possible! I think my support on here has made a great impact on our success! So thank you again and again!

Good on ya, Terry! I've just got one question...how'd you teach Bailey to give a high five? I had a cat that played fetch once, but the 4 we have now just do usual cat things. You know how it is; sleep, demand food, sleep off the meal for 6 hours, demand attention for 5 minutes, take a nap, demand food, sleep some more, get ready for bed. How'd you do it?

Thanks LL! Bailey high fives for treats! He's a very smart cat... his favorite game is red light, green light... He also fetches, and will get a toy out of his toy box on request, but then you're stuck playing with him for the next 10 minutes. He is very entertaining, you know our kids are grown so he is our baby... even though he's 6 yrs. old!

Wow! Bailey's really special. I showed your response our youngest two, Lucy and Pris. Lucy got up and walked away, Pris squeaked at the pointer and hit it. She loves playing Smack the Pointer. It's the only time she squeaks. Weird.

Hi Terry. great blog. Wishing you continued success being smoke free. Love Thomas Kincaid too. Hoping to convince hubby to get one of his prints at some point, keeping fingers crossed. Will have to look for the movie on Roberto Clemente, he was one of my favorite players when I was little.

Congrats on keeping it up! I love Thomas Kincaid's work, it's always so pretty! I've got a paint-by-numbers of one of his paintings around here somewhere that I've never been brave enough to try.

Denise, Thanks for the encouraging words! I actually applied for a job at a Kincaid gallery where " The painter of light" would stop by every so often... I didn't get the job but I did learn alot about Thomas through the interview process! You definately have to see chasing 3000... You will love it !

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
