Family Mexican Fiesta!

Our girl came to dinner last night... she loves Mexican... so Dad and I knew just what to serve her! I spent most of the day on the prep work ( where is that soux chef when you need him?) You all are aware of the spicy pepper garden that I somehow ended
up with... I still don't know what I was thinkin'... well it is, what it is, and actually inspired the great meal we enjoyed with our one and only girl!
Last week I went on my fav food site.... I found Bob's fire sauce. This is the best and most versatile sauce I think I have ever come across. Check out the recipe in my box or look it up, keyword, habenero pepper sauce.
I marinated the shrimp and the chicken in it (for the fajita's), I made spicy sour cream with it, I used it to spice up my black bean soup and I used it in the corn salsa that is Jessica's favorite. This sweet and spicy sauce, made with the "worlds hottest
pepper", is so amazingly good! I followed the recipe to the tee with the exception of using only 6 of the 12 peppers 's called for.
Ok... enough of the Bob's sauce fanfare...and on to the topic of intention... Family and Food!
We had the best visit. We got caught up on Jess's volunteer venture, that she started a short while ago. She is working with animals that are about to be euthanized... she is a foster mom to furry babies! We could not be more proud of our big hearted girl!
Jessica has been sending us pics of her new charges... Dad and I lay odds on how likely it is that "this might be the one she can't give back"! So far so good!
The great people, she works with, has dubbed her "the cat whisperer". This name sure fits her... she picked out my Bailey for my birthday surprise 6 years ago. She has two precious rescues of her own... Polo and Gatsby! Yep... that would be my two grandkitties!
(Gave the grandpuppy cudo's last blog... just makin' sure gramma is not showin' favoritism... I love all my four legged grands equally!)
The food was great... but the visit was awesome!
