About this Cook
Not a chef by any means, but gotta get meals on the table for my family. That's why I love this site.
My favorite things to cook
Barbeque, things on the grill, things in the crockpot that are not your typical 'cream of' or don't involve onion soup mix. Anything that will get me compliments from my two boys and husband!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We lived in Greece for a year when I was little, and we still love those Greek dishes and mediterranean flavors.
My cooking triumphs
The pita bread off this site. It's like magic and so delicious!
My cooking tragedies
One of the first things I ever cooked--a birthday cake from a mix for my dad. I accidently put the oven on "broil." Obviously, it turned into a raw, runny cake that was totally black and burned on top. Thankfully, I kept trying my hand at cooking after that. Another big tragedy--making beef stroganoff with yogurt instead of sour cream. Only thing was, I accidently used vanilla (very sweet) instead of plain. Gross!!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II
I didn't care for this and it was a lot of trouble.

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin
Sooooo good. Marinated overnight and cooked on big green egg, direct heat, 400 degrees, 5 min each side and then until instant read thermometer registered 145. Tented 5 min then sliced.

Beef Stew VI
Really good. I was craving beef stew but didn't have time for the crock pot. I think this is better anyway. I made changes Chuck suggested but didn't have wine so used some beer instead. Also used a pack of dry beefy onion soup mix in place of 2 of the boullion cubes.
