First things first, I don't own a springform pan so I had to slum it a little bit, and divide my batter up between regular cake pans. As a result, this review might be a bit biased regarding the mechanics, so I'll skip right to taste.
This cake seemed more crumbly that creamy, and tasted like it really wanted to be fudge rather than a cheesecake. The graham cracker crust also seemed to become saturated with the cake batter to the point where it became indistinguishable from the mix itself. You could still taste it, but it was chocolate-colored and not crispy at all. Just chocolate flavored graham mush.
Based on all these rave reviews I was really expecting better. It was till tasty, just not what I was hoping for.
