About this Cook
I'm a 22 year old, single, mom that goes to school in the mornings and works in the evenings. When I get home with my 3 year old, we favor anything that's fast, easy, and healthy. I just started cooking about 2-3 years ago, but I find that I'm sort of a natural. My hidden talent however is baking. I show people pictures of things I've done and they encourage me to sale my stuff. But I say cooking is just a hobby. My true dream is to teach and in less than 2 years, I'llmake that happen.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite thing to cook by far is Tilapia. It tastes great no matter what you put on it and it's hard to mess up. Asided from that, I love fish....so it's a win/win situation for me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As large as my family is, we really don't have " cooking traditions". We have family gatherings every other weekend where we get together and eat and catch up. The host changes with the theme of the meal and it's always a blast to be apart of. As for me and my son, I love to do holiday themed foods when the time is right, and he loves to help in the kitchen; He even has his own little froggy apron!
My cooking triumphs
Cooking triumphs...??? Probably cupcakes. I think I've mastered the art of baking store bought and making homemade cupcakes. I decorate them as best I can, but being terrible at drawing has it's drawbacks. People tend to rave about them anyway though, lol. The best part is I always make way more than I can eat, so I give them away constantly.
My cooking tragedies
Aaaaahhhhhh! Spaghetti! People absolutely die for my mom's spaghetti, so I tried to make some on my own. It was terrible! I had to throw it out. Smelled great......tasted gross. Lol.

Shredded Chicken Tacos
Really tasty chiken tacos! Instead of buying or cooking chicken breast, I just used canned white meat chicken by Tyson. It saved me tons of time, which I tend to often run out of juggling college, work, and a two year old by myself! Oh, I couldn't find "ancho chili powder", but I did find "ancho chili pepper" (powder form) in several brands. I think it's a typo or something.
