About this Cook
i am a city girl from Bellevue,NE! i love this state! nothing compares!
My favorite things to cook
anything! i have a huge passin for food. i love food!!! i'll try any thing once. if i dont like it i wont eat it again. most likely though i will eat it again :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
thanksgiving in general is a huge deal in my family!! the food is never ending! and the menu never changes!! :) lime jello mold with olives and cottage cheese, candied yams, oyster dressing, giblet gravy, turkey, ham, garlic potatoes, green beans, pumkin pie, sweet potato pie, cranberry sauce...mmmmmm and thats not all! :)
My cooking triumphs
i made the BEST enchiladas ever! first time i had made my own enchilada sauce. id like to thank the allrecipes.com family for that! :)
My cooking tragedies
my ex and i had just moved into our new home. i decided to make alfredo, mind you, this was the second time i had made it. the sauce wasnt thickening and i added more and more parmesean....i think you know what happened. He will no longer eat Alfredo. :(

Ham, Potato and Broccoli Casserole
THIS WAS FABULOUS!!! I used Lisa D's review as my main reference. I used kielbasa instead of ham (I like the flavor better!) I layered everything in this order: Potatoes, Onions(I follow Lisa D's advice and baked 35 min) brocoli, Kielbasa. I then poured the liquid mixture over everthing and put a layer of cheese over the top! ( I kicked the mixture up a bit with a little hot sauce-I'm a soul food cook at heart) I would suggest lettiing this set a good 30-45 minutes if you have the time after it bakes for an hour! I have leftovers for lunch and I can't wait to eat them! :) Thank you Lisa D for your revision! It was so helpful! Definitely give this a try!Bon apetit!

Easy Sausage Strata
this was really good. i only had wheat bread so i used that...i will probably just go to the store next time and get white bread though. but it was still good. added some onions with the sausage when it was cooking...im still kind of a new cook so it was fun to ready all the reviews and see the different things all the great cooks did. next time i think i will use italian bread, ham, swiss cheese, spinach and mushrooms! :) mmmm!!

Baked Chicken
this was SUCH a big hit in My house! i did make a few changes though...i used rice crispies instead of cornflakes bc im not a fan of the corn flake texture. also instead of onion soup mis i used a rosemary/garlic seasoning blend from the local spice shop! i also added a little more mustard bc i felt it lacked something...but ths was delicious! i served it with some whole grain pasta with roasted red bell peppers, olives, shredded parmesean cheese, and a drizzle of olive oil! definitely putting this in my dinner rotation! this is great for any new cook in the kitchen! :)
