Grandma's Gingersnaps

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
If I could give these more stars, I would. I didn't change this recipe and it doesn't need it. So, so good and the dough is great! Is a definite keeper, thanks for sharing!

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2003
This was a big winner with the whole family! My son liked it and my husband thought they were great. I, too, enjoyed the taste, which WAS different and a nice change from the usual...actually, it will probably be added to the menu of "usuals" for us! Thanks Amy! Oh, and I added chopped uncooked broccoli and really liked that. I'm sure there's lots of variations possible for this great basic sauce.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2003
This was excellent! I just finished this for dinner and I am very satisfied. Besides the wonderful flavors mixed in the soup, I like the fact that it has your veggies, meat, and carbs all in one dish! As per another reviewer, I also baked the meatballs at 350 for 25 min., and they came out fine, except I would say to lightly grease the pan you use, as they tend to stick. You could also get away with baking them a minute or two shorter. I didn't add these to the soup while cooking, only when served. THanks for the great recipe! Oh, and I also used spinach, orzo (half of what's called for), and added garlic powder to the meatballs.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
I left out the cayenne (for the kids), and used frozen chicken strips that I defrosted halfway, then threw in the pan. That made for too much liquid, so I had to cook longer and then brown. I doubled the spice mixture and it was just about right. It turned out SO tasty! The lime flavor was just right, and I bet it's great with the cayenne. I will for sure put this into the rotation, and might even make up a shaker of the spices (like other reviewers). Delicious, healthy, and easy!! What more could you want!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
This is a great cake, very good taste, moist, it even rose well for me in my oven that tends not to cook evenly. It makes a big batch of batter, I used a 9x13 and still had enough for 6 cupcakes! I take "Dark" to mean the color of the cake, but the flavor is a medium chocolate. My mother makes brownies very similar to this and I have always loved those. Cocoa always makes for a great dessert. Yum!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
I really liked this, it had a very mellow but yummy flavor, and it was nice and creamy. The topping was super yummy too. I liked that it stayed creamy while baking, alot of times baked mac and cheese gets hard on the top, but not this one. I'll make this again.

Easy Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
This is terrific! First time making quiche and I was not dissappointed. In fact, I made it for Christmas morning brunch and was hoping it would turn out. I am so glad it did. Next time I will try sausage and spinach. It seems very versatile. And it baked up beautifully. It will definitley be added to my repertoire! Oh, I used 1/2 cup less of milk, and added an egg.

Hello Dollies II

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
These were good and even better when you know how easy they are to make. Hubby loved them. I also used graham cracker crumbs and a little more coconut, althought that bring it very close to the hello dollies 1 recipe here. I will make again.

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2008
Like some other reviewers, I have been making this for years. You really can't go wrong. This works with many other veggies as well. I do add lots more garlic since we love it, and you can even use garlic salt instead of regular salt. I also don't use butter. The garlic is so yummy when it carmelizes, and I cook it on high so that the asparagus stays crunchy yet is browned beautifully...that's where your flavor is. So good!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
This was very easy and the taste was very good. The meat was tougher than I anticipated, but that could have been the cut of meat. I will make again.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
This recipe really lived up to the ratings, but I wish the sauce recipe was doubled in the original recipe because the pasta really soaks it up. I tossed my pasta and sauce together. And the taste is so good and not overwhelming, so it would have been nice to have extra sauce. Next time I will definitley double it. It's so easy and good that it's a real keeper in my dinner rotation!

Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
This is fantastic and simple, however, I changed it up quite a bit. I did not use chicken boullion, squash, or bell pepper. I used broccoli and added toasted pine nuts. Really, you could add just about anything. The toasted pine nuts were the best addition, I think. We all loved this.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
I would rate this with 6 stars if I could. Everyone thought this was the best they have ever had, including myself. I used bakery white and wheat bread, cubed it, and let it dry out on sheets overnight. I used about 3 cups of broth and it was perfect. Next time I will cut down the salt to 1/2-1 tsp., per my preference. Just a fabulous, easy recipe that I will most certainly be making again!

Warm and Spicy Autumn Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
Wonderful! Easy, delicious, fragrant- simply yummy! I left out the orange and cloves step, but only because I wasn't serving it in a big bowl. If I was, I am sure that would be a lovely presentation.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
Yummy! Very rich though, especially since I doubled the sauce per other reviewers. I also used yellow onions because it was what I had, and one can of cr. of mush. and one cr. of chicken. It was still great. It is very versitale and would still be great any way you change it up. Will be a regular!
