Great Pumpkin Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
This was pretty tasty. I am a big fan of all things pumpkin, and this was good. It wasn't the best pupkin dessert I have ever had, but I might make it again.

Grandma's Gingersnaps

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
If I could give these more stars, I would. I didn't change this recipe and it doesn't need it. So, so good and the dough is great! Is a definite keeper, thanks for sharing!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Really great. I made most of the changes as per other reviewers, but I usually add my own touches to baked items. I know this makes it your own recipe, really, but this site always had great starter recipes. I love a soft cookie, so I baked at 350 for 7-8 minutes and they stayed soft and yummy!!

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I used pre-sliced french bread. It was so simple and very good, and also very sweet. Yummy!

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
These went over really well and aren't too strongly flavored. Pretty easy to make but I could not chill my dough very long because it made it too hard to roll out. I will most likely make these again next year, which is the best compliment.

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
I have made this for years but I use olive oil and LOTS of garlic...even more healthy! Fresh pepper helps too.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
Very good, especially if it's been cooking 8+ hours. Shredded the chicken like everyong else, and wanted to serve it with cole slaw on the sandwich but didn't have any. It's great leftover too.

Bran Flax Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2006
These were good although I made quite a few changes to make them healthier. Applesauce instead of apples, Enova oil, and splenda brown sugar blend. For being so healthy the taste was pretty good but not fantastic.

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
This was good but not great. However, it does have the potential to be better with a really great wine. Seems to me that a crockpot version would be eaiser, and maybe throw in a few more veggies. I might try it again...

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
Yummy! Very rich though, especially since I doubled the sauce per other reviewers. I also used yellow onions because it was what I had, and one can of cr. of mush. and one cr. of chicken. It was still great. It is very versitale and would still be great any way you change it up. Will be a regular!

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
Really really good. Especially if you like split pea soup. However, I made it with leftover honeybaked ham from thanksgiving, and it was wonderful. Great comfort food! Easy too!

Warm and Spicy Autumn Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
Wonderful! Easy, delicious, fragrant- simply yummy! I left out the orange and cloves step, but only because I wasn't serving it in a big bowl. If I was, I am sure that would be a lovely presentation.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
I would rate this with 6 stars if I could. Everyone thought this was the best they have ever had, including myself. I used bakery white and wheat bread, cubed it, and let it dry out on sheets overnight. I used about 3 cups of broth and it was perfect. Next time I will cut down the salt to 1/2-1 tsp., per my preference. Just a fabulous, easy recipe that I will most certainly be making again!

Watergate Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
Outstanding as always, however, I left out the nuts for my family's taste, and I used a whole 8 ounce container of cool whip for extra creaminess and a 20 ounce can of pineapple. It was great!

Beef and Parmesan Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
This wasn't bad, but the flavors didn't blend like I thought they would. I probably won't make it again, but it is worth a try.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
These were good but not great. It was either missing something or had too much of something else. The texture was great- soft and nicely formed. I am actually surprised at such a high rating.

Baked Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2005
This was okay. Tasted like it was missing something. Probably because I make a sesame pecan chicken that has paprika in it, and it's so good that this recipe doesn't compare. I won't make this one again.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
This recipe really lived up to the ratings, but I wish the sauce recipe was doubled in the original recipe because the pasta really soaks it up. I tossed my pasta and sauce together. And the taste is so good and not overwhelming, so it would have been nice to have extra sauce. Next time I will definitley double it. It's so easy and good that it's a real keeper in my dinner rotation!

Elvis Presley Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
I don't know how anyone could stand this cake as sweet as it could be with as much sugar the recipe calls for. I used almost 3 cups confectioner's sugar for the frosting (which was good), and 1 cup for the pineapple mixture (of which I used a 20 ounce can per other reviewers- but I don't think it needed the sugar, and the juice needs to be drained- makes the cake too soggy). I ground up the pecans in my food processor and mixed them in with the frosting and then sprinkled a little on top of the finished cake. That worked out great- the frosting was the best part, IMHO, and it was a beautiful presentation. I would give it five stars because it's a great mix of ingredients, it just will take some work to get them to my liking. I think just the cake and the frosting would be great too, without the pineapple, and it would make the process easier. Also, I made the cake mix with whole eggs instead of just egg whites. It's a very good recipe, overall.
