Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
This was my first attempt at making fudge and it turned out perfect. I read the reviews and followed the hints the other reviewers suggested. Great recipe that reminded me of the fudge my mom used to make.

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Me & pie crust never get along. I tried making my Mom's recipe for pie crust before trying this one and ended up throwing it in the trash. I figured I would have to go to the store and buy the refrigerated stuff, but I searched the website and found this recipe. It was so easy to make and the crust came out great. I was a bit concerned about the amount of shortening and might try it again with a little less. It is also a good thing to chill the shortening and make sure your water is ice cold. I love my mom's recipe, but since this actually worked for me...sorry mom.

Sunday's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This is a great starter recipe for apple pie. I did make a few modifications to the recipe. I used 2 granny smith, 2 red delicious & 2 braeburn apples. To the mix I added 1 additional tablespoon of flour, 1 tbsp. unpacked brown sugar & 1/8 tsp. nutmeg. After mixing the filling together and placing in the pie crust recipe I also got from AllRecipes, I sprinkled about 1 teaspoon of corn starch across the top to help thicken up the sauce. The pie turned out great. Thanks!

Fantastic recipe. Made it for Christmas dinner and it was a hit. The consistancy was perfect and the taste was wonderful. This will be my go to recipe for corn casserole from now on.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
They were okay, but I don't think they were the best sugar cookies I have ever had. I followed others advice and added the extra sugar and vanilla. Just ho-hum. They did taste better after I frosted them though.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Great icing recipe. The icing set up just like the kind you can purchase in the tubes. Will use this recipe again for all my cookie decorating.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
These are so good. I must have been using small muffin cups because I got 12 muffins and a miniature loaf pan out of my batter which is great because it means more to enjoy. I did change the cinnamon to 1/2 tsp because I love cinnamon. UPDATED: I made this recipe again and this time cooked it in a bundt pan. My husband, who didn't touch the muffins last time, raved about how good it was. Thanks again for a great recipe.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
It was good, but nothing to go gaga over. I don't have a breadmaker so I followed the suggestions given to make it without. This was also my first experience using yeast. Everything went well and they baked up beautifully. I also inverted the pan shortly after coming out of the oven. I didn't use the icing recipe given. I just made a confectioner sugar glaze and drizzled it over the top. I'm glad I did. The rolls were sweet enough on their own without the icing suggested. I will keep this recipe and probably make it occasionally, but I will also keep looking for that WOW recipe.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
This was my second attempt at a cheesecake and my first using this recipe. It turned out great. It was so rich and creamy. I put a pan of water underneath the cheesecake while it was cooking and it only had one slight crack after it was done. I did use another recipe for the crust because I like graham cracker crusts. There was definetely a lot of filling and I was worried about it cooking over the edge, but it just baked up smooth and beautiful. We just topped this with caramel sauce and it was divine. Thanks for a great recipe. This is going into my keep pile.

The whole family loved it. I omitted the sherry since I didn't have any and it still turned out delicious.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
This was so good. My husband wasn't too sure, but he said to put away my old recipe and continue using this one. My three year old, who doesn't like potatos even ate them. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

Calabacitas

I had this dish at my inlaws house and have to say that it was delicious. It didn't "look" appealing, but the taste was wonderful. It would be great served with rice.

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2002
This recipe is wonderful. I made this for a recent family reunion. Instead of sprinkling the cinnamon and sugar on the top of the apples in the pan. I just put the apples and the cinn/sugar mixture together in a ziploc bag and coated all the apple pieces. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe.
