About this Cook
I am a mom to 4 and wife to Chris. I am 32 years old and had to learn the fast way at the age of 17 and pregnant with my first to learn the art of "Cajun" "southern" cooking which I thought was way hard then.....I had my mother in law teach me plus several other members from my husbands family teach me and I can say now I am comfortable cooking for them and my husband says that my roast and gravy is better than his moms now, but shhhh you didn't hear it from me!!
My favorite things to cook
Anything with rice and gravy, my favorite would have to be pork roast in a dark cajun gravy like my mawmaw used to cook.....And of course anything that is easy, I love my crockpot!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Rice and Gravy and eating boiled crawfish for my parents anniversary.........My husband is also a master cook and he is the bomb when it comes to boiling crawfish
My cooking triumphs
making my first chicken and rice and gravy that everyone actually liked
My cooking tragedies
When my husband and I first married we wanted to make gumbo the old know style, you know make your own roux......well it didnot come out the way we wanted it to (basically we burnt the roux and that was just plain nasty) So yeah that wss tragedy waiting to happen, haha

The Best Lemon Bars
These are really good. I gave it a twist though. I put a lemon glaze on top after it was done. 2 cups confectioner's sugar, juice from a lemon and two tablespoons butter.Real lemony!
