B and L's Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
I made it exactly as it's written and I loved it! It was nice and thick, so it was filling.

Mongolian Strawberry-Orange Juice Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2005
I made this as is and it was so good! It was a little thin and I think I'll try it with a banana sometime too.

Banana Smoothie II

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2005
I really liked this. I almost didn't put the nutmeg in, but it added a nice flavor.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
This was a quick, easy, tasty recipe. I took everyone's advice and added tomato paste to thicken it up. The key is to use a spaghetti sauce that you love!

Berries and Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2005
I wasn't very thrilled with this recipe. The ricotta flavor was strong even though I didn't use a full cup. I had to use Sherry instead of Marsala b/c that's all I had, so that may have had something to do with it. It was kind of thick and needed to be sweeter.

Creamy Dill Cucumber Toasties

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2005
I bought a loaf of cocktail rye bread for this recipe. I forgot to put the dill on, but they were still yummy! Everyone loved them.

Giant Strawberries with Raspberry Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2005
I made this for a ladies poker night and we barely touched it. The cottage cheese gave it a weird lumpy look and it had a very milky/almondy flavor. We thought it might look better if the cottage cheese was pureed too. I ended up dumping the whole thing out and we just ate the fruit by itself.

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
The sauce smelled great and it has some potential, but it was bland. My chops turned out tough too.

Gravy Stuffing Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
I put a whole chicken in the crock pot before work for this recipe. It was very good! Next time I may make more stuffing because mine didn't cover the top.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
I was in the process of making burritos when I realized that I didn't have a taco seasoning packet. This was a very good substitute!

Pig Pickin' Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
This was very easy to make and tasted good too! It's a great summer cake - very cool and refreshing. I couldn't really tell if the folks who ate it liked it or not though. No one really said anything and no one went back for seconds.

Mexican Cream Cheese Rollups

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
These were very addictive! I used less green olives and green onions than the recipe called for because it seemed like too much. I let them sit overnight before I sliced them and I think it helped blend the flavors. I brought these to a party and everyone loved them. One of the girls isn't an olive fan, but she really liked them too.

Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2005
These were okay. We used Old Bay seasoning and some Cajun Seasoning. We didn't precook the bacon, so it wasn't done and the shrimp were starting to get a little rubbery when we took them out.

Deep Fried Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2005
These were just okay. I don't like hot pickles on hamburgers, so I should've figured I wouldn't like these. I gave it 4 stars because the breading was really good. I will use it on other veggies.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2005
My husband made this last night and it was great! It was very tangy and the flavor was so good. Next time he makes it, he may strain the onion and garlic out. We won't be buying store sauce for a while!

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2005
This turned out great! The only change I made was that I used a can of Rotel (with diced chiles) in place of the crushed tomatoes. Next time I will follow other reviewers advice and put some different beans in too.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2005
This was good, but I prefer my cornbread sweeter. I didn't read the instructions correctly and made it in an 8 x 8 inch pan and it took forever to cook, but it gave the outside a nice little crunch!

Rollups

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2004
I used a half container of Alouette garlic & herb cheese spread. It tasted so good! I didn't melt the rest like the recipe suggested - the flavor was fine with just the cheese spread in the middle.

Cherry Cider

I thought this was way too sweet, but some other folks liked it a lot. It had a real strong cherry flavor.

Percolator Punch

My coworker made this in a crock pot. She added an orange slice and cinnamon stick to each glass - it was so good! I am going to make this for New Year's Eve.
