Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
I missed the "let sit 1 hour" instruction and these were still very good. Farmer's market blueberries really put them over the top.

Savory Corn Flatbread

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
I didn't have pesto, so I just left that out. It was pretty good. Simple and kind of old-fashioned. I had it with some veggie soup and it was a good accompaniment.

Puerto Rican Breakfast Custard

Delicious, simple and quick. Just what I wanted to use up some milk.

Dip For The Stars

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
I made this for a holiday party last night and it was easily the most popular thing there. Delicious! I didn't change any ingredients, but I didn't bother molding and chilling it. I spread it in a pie plate with the cheese on the bottom, then the pesto, then the tomatoes. Also, the recipe says sun-dried tomatoes, NOT tomatoes in oil, so if you use tomatoes packed in oil, it's gonna be oily!

Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Delicious! I used pancetta instead of prosciutto because I already had it. I also left out the water and used 2 28 oz. cans of crushed San Marzano tomatoes and let it reduce a bit. The biggest change I made was to use 1 can of evaporated milk instead of cream and add in 3/4 cup of grated Romano cheese at the end. Yum!

Strawberry Salsa

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
I just realized I never rated this. I made this for a party and everyone raved about it. It starts off sweet and finishes up hot. Very popular, gone quickly.

Dark Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
Very good, very easy. I subbed buttermilk for half the milk and omitted the vinegar. Added a healthy shake of cinnamon (prob several tsps). Delicious and moist--my coworkers are gobbling them up!

Mafioso Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
This was only okay. I had to add extra butter to get it to cream properly. The cake was very moist, but not very chocolatey or flavorful.

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
This was way too sweet for my taste, but my bf (the birthday boy) loved it. I whipped 4 egg whites separately and folded them in last (used the other 2 for frosting) and the cakes rose nicely. It is a very moist cake.

Cinnamon Cookies II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
These are excellent. I replaced the molasses with corn syrup and decreased the baking soda, used half brown sugar and upped the cinnamon a bit. I still think they need something else to bring out the cinnamon more, but they are great cookies.

Greek Potato Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2006
Fantastic! I can't believe the complexity of flavors in such a simple dish. Warning to those who don't know what kalamatas are - these are not like black olives from a can. They are extremely pungent, so if you don't like intense flavors, you may not like this dish. This is not a failure of the recipe, but your own preference, and you shouldn't rate the recipe down for it. I'm thrilled at having an exciting new potato recipe in my collection!

Dirty Martini

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2006
I adore dirty martinis, but even my olive hating friends love these. They just leave the olives for me to eat! A great variation for heat fans is the Hot and Dirty - add pickled jalapeno juice as well as olive juice.
