I'm a professional Tour Director and during the off-season (Nov.-March) I work at filling my time with freelance work in writing and photography.
I come from a family of six. I was the youngest of four children (two girls and two boys) and my parents were married for over 51 years when my father passed away. Although my mother worked as a teacher and later as a school principal, she still made sure she could prepare hot, nutritional meals for our family and we always ate together each evening.
I'm single, so I am primarily cooking for myself. I enjoy a variety of foods and want to learn more about preparing my own meals. Not only does cooking my own meals result in saving money, but it is also a nice sense of accomplishment when a dish turns out well and tastes good.
My favorite things to cook
I have a real weakness for pastas, cheese, and meats. About the first thing I learned to make myself (other than boiling water and making scrambled eggs) was mac & cheese. I expanded my grilling skills and love doing steaks, burgers, chicken, and various sausages, as well as simple things like corn-on-the-cob and vegetables on the grill. I’m truly a beginner and am looking forward to finding some of the easy, tasty recipes here this site.
