My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge, made during the winter. She would take the saucepan with the ingredients outside to cool while she stirred like a demon.
My cooking triumphs
Baking bread for the first time when I was 20 and newly married (after never cooking while I lived at home); making chicken corn soup from scratch, including buying a chicken at the local farmer's market and cooking it off for stock and meat; baking a Lemon Berry Mascarpone cake for the first time and having it look and taste better than in restaurants.
My cooking tragedies
Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge made with chunky peanut butter. I made it for a work "thing" and it just wouldn't set. It tasted great, but drove people off with the way it looked.
