Poke Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
Great recipe and so easy to make! I've made this before with a raspberry jello and this time it was made with lemon jello. I used the jumbo sized jello mix and it covered the whole 9X13 cake. It was covered with a powder sugar, cool whip and cream cheese frosting.

Peanut Butter Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
Ooh man these were so good and I'm glad I gave them a shot. I used both crunchy and creamy peanut butter. When they finished cooking I thought they tasted like green bell peppers. I did have to talk my 12 year old into trying them and she was the only one who ended up with a spicy one. I will be making these again but I'll make sure to leave some of the seeds or a sliced pepper on top for those who like them spicy.

BBQ Chili Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
I wasn't sure how BBQ pasta would be but I wanted to try something a little different but not wildly so nobody would try it. I used a whole can (26 oz) of spaghetti sauce and a full cup of BBQ sauce because I like a saucy pasta sauce. Rainbow rotini, red bell pepper, a pound of ground turkey and some crush red pepper were the other changes I made. We all went back for seconds and I was asked to make it again soon. Def a keeper!

No Bake Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
I have made these so many times this summer it's crazy. The first time they wouldn't set right and were soft and mushy but the next and each after I timed it right and they turned out fabulous. I've added coconut to one batch and once when I ran out of milk I used vanilla coffee creamer. I've gotten requests for the creamer ones again. DD loved it!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
I loved the marinade! I added diced onion and garlic to it and didn't have lemon juice on hand so that was left out. When I make this again I'll be doubling the sauce because everyone wanted more of it. It was also great with the bite size crispy potatoes I served with the chops.

Skinny Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
I made these into bite size chunks instead of fries. I ended up cooking them for about an hour and a half. They tasted great and DD said they were the best I've ever made. I usually just spray the potatoes with cooking spray or coat with a little bit of oil. I only had margarine but that did the trick. I will be making this again using others reqs about soaking them first.

Creole Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
Great recipe! We ended up cutting the pork chops into bite size pieces and added some spices to both the flour and the sauce. They were so tender and juicy. Everyone gave it a 5 or more and said they want it again soon.

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
This is the first time I've made chicken parm at home. It was so easy and delicious. I only had a shredded colby jack cheese blend on hand so that's what I went with. I got rave reviews and it was rated a keeper.

Cantonese Dinner

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
This was so good. I doubled the sauce as other reviewers suggested using a tomato sauce with chunky veggies in it and a mix of white vinegar and rice vinegar. Will def make it again!

Barley Primavera

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
This recipe was good but I didn't have zucchini so I used onion, garlic, carrots, and broccoli. I also used 4 and a half cups of stock to make the barley and added pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and ground coriander. I had some left over shredded chicken so I also tossed that in. The family loved it and we all gave this a 5.

Cabbage and Smoked Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
Oooh this is so good! This was a great recipe to get DD to eat cabbage. I loved the flavor the sauted onion and garlic gave the dish. I also added a couple more spices and left out the parmesan cheese. This is a keeper!

Garlic Roasted Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
Another fabulous recipe from this site. I added a chopped green bell pepper and an onion. I didn't have whole garlic cloves so I went with a couple tablespoons of minced garlic instead. I also went with chicken breasts cut into chunks. I'll double the sauce next time because everyone loved it so much.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
Super easy to make and they taste great ... what more could you want. I wanted cookies but didn't want to make them from scratch and take a long time mixing. This was the perfect solution. I only had butter cake mix so that's what I went with. I made some cookies bigger and lighter in color than others. I like my cookies small and more of a caramel color and DD likes them super big and barely golden. A win win for both of us.

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Great cake recipe! I’ve been using this one for every holiday or family party I’ve gone to for the last year. I was looking for something my nephew (who is 4 and allergic to nuts, soy and milk) could have. I changed the oil to canola and everything else was good to go. He loved it and was glad he could have cake again. Thank you so much for submitting this recipe!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
I didn't have Italian dressing so I added ketchup, brown sugar, Worchestershire sauce and mustard along with some spices. Cooked it for about 5 hours or so and served on hoggie rolls with potato salad. It turned out fabulously and everyone loved it.

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
I'm not a potato salad person but this recipe is one that I really liked. I made this at the last moment to serve with slow cooked barbeque chicken (Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue). It was good but ended up being 10 times better the next day. I didn't have relish so I chopped up some pickled cucumbers (Adrienne's Cucumber Salad) and added red and green bell peppers to it also. I will be making this again and have already shared it with family.

Easy Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
First time making guac at home and it turned out fabulous! Even DD liked it and gave it a 4. I made mine a half mash and left some chunks in it. It was served this with homemade corn torilla chips. Yum!

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
Great biscuits! They were very light and fluffy. I made them with water because I ran out of milk. Will try them again with milk next time around. I also made some lighter and some with a little more color for those of us who like them darker. Just add a tab of butter and they were perfect.

Diane's Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
I loved this recipe! It's a total keeper. This was the first time I made it and served it with corned beef for St. Patrick's Day. I didn't have bacon but used some of the corned beef fat to saute the cabbage and onions. It worked out great.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
These were amazing! I had never made stuffed jalapenos at home before. I found out that gloves are a must when working with a lot of jalapenos ... my hands were on fire when we were done eating them. I used a spoon to scrap the seeds out so I'm sure the extra juice from that didn't help. I only had 4 ounces of cream cheese so I added shredded mozzerella along with the parmesan. I topped some of them with a drizzle of ranch dressing. They were a huge hit with the fam and I have been asked to make them again this week.
