Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
I did not have dried basil or poultry seasoning so I used thyme and a little rubbed sage and greek seasoning in their place. Also used hot paprika.I had two chops and cut the oil to 1/8 cup and made the rest of the sauce to the recipe- made plenty of sauce- cooked on medium for 6 hours and shredded the meat and served on rice. Incredibly good. I know a lot of readers may not like the changes but it I appreciated the original recipe but just didn't have all the ingredients!! Thanks for sharing.

Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
Great and easy apple crisp recipe. I used a mixture of apples because that is what I had (Grannys, Macintosh) and added just a squeeze of real lemon to the apples prior to sprinkling them with the cinnamon and nutmeg, then cooking in the oven. Only had pecans and 1/2 a cup at that but they roasted and cooked perfectly - 1 cup would be for the major nut lover! I use a convection oven setting and cooked for the stated amount. Turned out very flavorful and perfect with or without ice cream. Thanks for sharing.

Gouda and Spinach Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
This is an excellent and easy recipe for stuffed pork chops. I used Italian seasoned panko and Emeril's essence for the creole seasoning. I cooked for 40 minutes and let sit for 5 minutes and it was perfectly cooked. The flavor of the gouda with the seasoned panko was delicious. Thanks for sharing !!

Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This makes a fabulous pie. For the sugar I used 1/2 splenda - 1/2 sugar. I also added an extra 1/2 tablespoon of flour. I prefer milk on the crust versus egg white and used a sugar /cinnamon mixture for the top. Used PB premade pie crust. Cooked in my convection oven at 375 degree setting with foil on edges for 35 minutes - 40 minutes max. Pie was done and perfectly browned. It sat for about 8 hours and was perfect - key to not having the pie filling run when you cut it. thanks for sharing...

White Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
Wow did this bring back memories. I just used a double recipe in Turkey pot pie and it was perfect. I just add kosher salt and white pepper to taste. Thanks for the reminder!!

After-Christmas Turkey Potpie

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
Thank you for a great and simple recipe for using turkey. I did add one medium potato, peeled and cubed small, boiled al dente and added with the veggies. I used frozen peas and carrots instead of green beans and added 1/8 tsp each of rubbed sage, oregano, white pepper. Also chopped small one jar of mushrooms. I also substituted white sauce instead of canned soup- double the normal recipe for white sauce and it is perfect. I used a convection oven for approx 50 minutes at 350 with the edges of pie covered entire time with foil. Also used disposable foil pie plate sprayed with PAM and it turned out perfectly cooked & easy to serve. Thanks to everyone for sharing their tips...it really helped!
