About this Cook
Baking helps me to maintain my equilibrium. I like my baked goods to turn out moist, and my dinners to be juicy! When I get flustered when I am cooking, usually because there is too many people in the kitchen, I spin around until I can think again. I also like talking to myself whilst cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Long, complicated dinners.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking in general has been a tradition in my family. Cheese fondue and spinach dip with french bread chunks, little smokies in bbq sauce, ruben sandwiches, artichoke hearts, and cheese balls and crackers are our standard fare for Christmas Eve. Sugar is a must in any red meat dishes, such as roast, brown gravy, ect. It is German MSG!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a complete roast dinner, that tasted like Grammoo's!
My cooking tragedies
I used mashed potatoes made from potato pearls for hamburger pie. To top it off, I forgot the hamburger, too. It was so disgusting! I DO NOT recommend potato pearls, and I DO recommend remembering the hamburger in hamburger pie!

Pennsylvania Dutch Pickled Beets and Eggs
I can't believe how amazing these are! I made one change. Instead of using 1 c. sugar, I used 1/3 tsp NuNaturals Nustevia.

Diane's Colcannon
Unexpected but delicious combination! I definitely wouldn't leave out the butter. Real butter just tastes so good!

Made-in-Minutes No-Cook Fudge
This is so, so, good! It tastes just like the truffles that you can get at Costco! I used butter instead of coconut oil.
