Baked Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
Ok...this recipe I have been making for years........it is a wonderful casserole, easy, filling and very tasty. You wouldnt think that the combo of the tomato sauce and brown gravy go together....but it does. I have also made this with ground turkey or ground chicken instead of beef and also have used my own homemade marinara sauce instead of just canned tomato sauce. Thanks!

Meatiest Vegetarian Chili From Your Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
This was pretty good! I do like tofu so it was not a stretch for me to try this one...I also added some zucchini that I froze from the summer to amp up the veg factor in the dish amd make it a bit more hearty...otherwise it was just pepperrs and onions. I thought the spices were pretty much right on and it was a very flavorful chili and if you dont eat tofu....you would never know by taste since tofu takes on whatever the flavors are. Good healthy chili and so easy since its a crockpot meal! I didnt sautee the peppers and onions first....jsut dumped everything in the crockpot. I also used dark red kidney beans instead of black. Thanks!

Excellent and moist. My only changes was to decrease the brown sugar to just 1c and I used fat free half and half instead of whole milk. I also use 5 smallish /med bananas. Delicious!

Jagerschnitzel

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
Amazing! So very good....dont know why I havent tried this recipe sooner....I used 12 cutlets pounded thin and used a whole wheat bread crumb. The sauce was really what made this dish for me.....I used no sodium beef boullioun packets instead of the cube. The sauce was thick, creamy and very flavorful...perfect for the pork cutlets. My family and company enjoyed. Will make again. Thanks!

Apple Crisp with Oat Topping

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
Excellent....my family and company loved it....I used Jona Gold, Crimson Crisp and Fuji apples picked from the local orchard. I also doubled the apples and kept the topping measurments the same. This loaded up a 9x13 pan. Served warm with vanilla bean ice cream. Just amazing...loved the crunch in the topping from the oats!

Waikiki Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
Loved! Very cake like and crumbly....but delicious! I made a couple changes....I used 2 1/2c of the baking mix and upped the cornmeal to 3/4c as did another reviewer. I also decreased the sugar to 3/4c and the butter to just 1/2c (1 stick)....thought 2 would be way too much. Worked out perfectly. A very tasty cornbread....just not as "corn-y" in texture like I am used to. Thanks!

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
So good! My daughter made this one too....she prepared it the night before in the slow cooker insert and then refrigerated overnight....next morning....put in slow cooker and turn it on.....now thats perfect for a busy work/school morning. She was really craving beef stroganoff so this was perfect. It was delicious! Doubled the recipe and we do have leftovers. Served over buttered noodles and made Waikiki Cornbread from this site as well. Tender meat, nice and saucy, and loved the sour cream and parsely addition at the end. Thanks for a great recipe!

Broccoli Cheese Soup Recipe : Ree Drummond : Recipes : Food Network

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
My oldest said the best broccolii cheese soup ever! I used 2% milk and fat free half and half, I also added 2c of fat free low sodium chicken broth just to stretch it a little because I knew the family would want seconds. I did have to add a bit of cornstarch and water slurry to thicken more since I added 2 extra cups of liquid. Not a problem though, thick and creamy. I used a sharp cheddar and montery jack cheeses. Fresh broccoli a must! Delicious!

My daughter made this for dessert last night. It was delicious! She used a spice cake mix since that was all we had....and only added nuts on half of the cake. So good and easy! She did a great job!

Delicious with a few changes....used 2 lbs of extra lean ground chicken, added garlic, 2 cans of cream o soup, added some sour cream, a can of corn drained, and I also added some shredded yellow squash that I had frozen from the summer as an added extra veg. Family inhaled this. Made in advance, refrigerated and baked later in the day. Thanks!

Three Packet Slow Cooker Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2012
Great crockpot roast. I used a 3lb bonelss chuck as suggested, but I made my own dry ranch dressing mix and I made Italian Dressing Mix from this site to use as well. A great way to control the sodium that otherwise consumes convinient packet products. I did use McCormick brown gravy mix packet. Wonderful smell in my house when I got home from work. Family loved this ....thanks!

Used baby red skins that I cut into chunks and used all dried herbs since I had no fresh rosemary on hand. Baked 375 for about an hour and kept tossing so they got crispy. Served with Spicy Fry Sauce from this site for dipping.....yummy!

Italian Meatloaf in Zucchini Boats

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2012
I thought this was great....made changes though. Was gifted a huge zucchini the other day and cleaned and cut this into 6 pieces hence six boats. I would have also used the pulp in the mixture but it was too seedy. I did use extra lean ground chicken, used only 1 tblspn of evoo to sautee my onion, garlic and I also added sliced mushrooms to that. Along with the carrot, I added half a red pepper and pulsed those through the food processor. This was quite a meatloaf mix and I used whole wheat Italian crumbs, and added some pecorino romano cheese. Now before stuffing these boats, I did pre-cook the boats at 375 for about 45 min to soften. I then stuffed them with the meat/veggie mixture. When these were done, I then added sliced deli mozzarella and topped with a can of fire roasted diced tomatoes. These were delicious and very healthy, moist and flavorful. Thanks!
