Quick Cheesy Corn

Reviewed: May 8, 2007
This tasted good but it was basically clumps of cheese mixed in to the corn. I never could get it to smooth out into a sauce.

Bacon Cheddar Quiche

Reviewed: May 6, 2007
Too much bacon! and I love bacon. Maybe the problem is not enough egg. I don't really care for the cooking in the microwave either. It just isn't what I was thinking that it was going to be.

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: May 5, 2007
Other than using brown rice with the additional time needed, I followed the recipe and we all loved it.

Split Pea Soup with Rosemary

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2007
Not only easy but also very tasty! It was a little salty so next time I might use sodium free broth. Yummy!

Slumgullion

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
By itself, I thought this bland, but as a base I thought it great. This time I added taco seasoning and sour cream along with chopped onion and crushed garlic. Yum.

Chicken Fried Steak I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
I took 2 other review recommendations and the steak came out perfect. I made my own gravy which is similar to the one given. I let it set ten minutes after dredging and I made sure that my oil was hot. The coating stayed and we had a great meal.

Easy Lemon Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
I followed the recipe exactly and took it to a potluck. It got rave reviews and many asked for the recipe. I even liked it and I don't usually care for lemon pie. I didn't have any problems with how it set up at all.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2006
My husband and I liked this although I could have added more vinegar. None of my kids liked it, even the ones who will eat anything. Might add to my meal plan every once in a while just for something different.

Easy Fried Spinach

Reviewed: May 26, 2006
As a spinach lover I was disappointed. If I ever try it again I will add some balsalmic vinigar or even some lemon juice for flavor. We found it to be a wilted oily flavorless side dish and we couldn't eat it. I did follow the directions exactly.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2005
This is by far the best banana bread recipe I have ever used or tasted. We like to eat it quickly because if we wrap it the crisp sugar topping will get soft. I will probably never use another recipe and I certainly won't recommend any others.

Party Punch I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2004
This is a great punch. I used white grape juice and when I began mixing it I realized that I had grabbed a white grape juice with cranberry by mistake. It didn't matter. It was still great! Because we were in a time crunch we didn't freeze the lemons, we just sliced them and floated them on top. It was pretty and tasty. Thank you! This is my punch recipe from now on!!!

Cheesy Cheeseburger Pizzas

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2004
Easy but not great. My kids didn't even eat much. Maybe it would be better on cresent rolls. I might try that next time.

Blue Plate Beef Patties

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2004
The horseradish was really overpowering in this and both DH and I love horseradish. DH thought it might taste better if the horseradish was mixed into the burger instead of the gravy. I agree, but probably will not be making this again to try it.

Mama Corleone's Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2004
This was easy and yummy. My DH said he would like it again, but he says he has to get used to not having sauce. I added extra garlic. I thought it was good and a nice alternative to the heavy tomato sauce.

Broccoli Beef I

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2004
As a former general manager of an oriental restaurant, I can tell you that this is not "just like take out" but it is good. My family likes it and we will make it again. I did follow the advice about using the sirloin and slicing it while it was still partially frozen. Great tip! I also added larger amounts of the spices and garlic for a stronger flavor. Easy and Yummy!

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2004
This soup was a huge hit with my DH and DS but not my 3 yr old DD (read picky eater). I left the beans out and added southwest chicken strips instead of canned. We crumbled chips on top then added sour cream, shredded cheese and chopped avocado. Served with quesadillas on the side this has became a new family favorite. We plan to make this often and share the recipe too!

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2004
What an easy and yummy recipe! I used crunchy p-nut butter and cut the sugar to 1/2 cup and added a splash of mexican vanilla. I did not flatten them, but left them in small teaspoon drops. It made 22 cookies. In my gas oven it took them 14 minutes. I let them cool a little on the cookie sheet and they were done perfectly. They are kind of crumbly and require coffee, tea or milk. Next time I will try them with Splenda.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2003
I made this for St. Patricks day and family and guests thought it was wonderful. I tried putting the glaze in the pan and the cake back in, but I must have cooked the glaze too long because it got hard and glued the cake into the pan. I had to heat it up to get it back out. I put the cake on a rack and poured a new batch over it and it was much better. I will be making this again and again.

Strawnana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2003
This is a great recipe! To get more of the strawberry flavor that other reviewers said they couldn't taste, I put the strawberries in sliced instead of mashed. I did let the beaters whip them around a bit but the berries were still chuncky. My family thinks that it is great. I am making this a permanent resident in my recipie box.
