Homemade Maple Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
My mom used to make this when I was a kid. I don't use the white sugar just 2 cups of brown. My kids love the flavor and I love that there is no High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
I love this recipe! It is so easy! Like another reviewer I also just melt the butter instead of trying to cut it into the flour. My kids love them when I divide the dough in half and flatten it putting a layer of brown sugar and cinnamon between the layers and then seal them. Wonderful!

Apple Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
I made this to go with a late night snack. Got to the pantry and no crackers, no apples, no nothing! I just ate it straight from the bowl with a spoon. Oh so good!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

With the oil and vanilla addition recommended by other reviewers this is an awesome, quick, and tasty cookie recipe! I used Devil's Food Cake mix and they were fudgy like brownies.

These are so rich! We didn't have white choc. chips so we used semi-sweet. Very stiff dough. Highly recommend!

Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
This was easy! I didn't use the butter though. I sprayed the pan with Pam spray and the chicken turned out tasty and much lower in fat.

Irish Soda Farls

My family loves these! I do have to cut them in half to make them thinner so that they cook all the was through. Wonderful alternative to biscuits.

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
This is a very versatile recipe. My picky kids love them and it saves me money making bars instead of buying them. I did take another reviewers advice and I pressed them into my jelly roll pan.I sprayed my hands with cooking spray to press the mix into the pans without it sticking to my fingers. I also used pecans and sprinkled the top with cinnamon before baking. I cut them into 24 bars. Easy recipe for kids too! My 7 year old daughter was able to help me with most of it.

Grandma's Noodles II

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
This recipe was very easy and tasty. My family loves it and we have used it several times in homemade soup. I have even shaped it rather than just roll it and cut strips. My whole family likes it, even my very picky daughter.

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This is good. We have a friend who makes authentic carnitas in a hand pounded copper pan over an open fire pit. We have been spoiled, but as I say this is good and will do in the mean time. I did take one reviews advice and fry it after taking it out of the crockpot.

Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
This bread was fabulous! I did add more pumpkin pie spices (cloves, allspice). I made two loaves and a pan of muffins. After pouring the first pan I added chocolate chips to the rest of the batter. It is delicious with and without the chips. I also spray my pans and coat with a cinnamon and sugar mix before I pour in the batter. One side note...I lost count of my cups of flour and I think I only put in 2 instead of 3. All of the bread came out very dense and resembled the weight of a brick, but the flavor was fantastic and my family has eaten most of it already. I will definately make this again and try all of the flour!

Pork Chops with Apples, Onions, and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
I made this in the crock pot. It was good but messy. I would rather have mashed sweet potatoes, homemade applesauce and pork chops all separate. We did like the flavors.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
I read through the reviews before preparing this and I agree that it was dry and I thought that it needed more sauce but probably not double. I did add potatoes and I used my own stock and condensed milk. It was delicious.

Oat Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
After reading reviews, I made some changes myself. I used only Whole Wheat Flour, non-fat Vanilla Yogurt instead of applesause, added Cinnamon and Vanilla. When I began mixing these I thought I had forgotten a moisture ingredient, it was so thick! I forged ahead anyway and they are delicious. Sweet enough and I just eat mine with light marg. Yum! Thanks

Brown Sugar Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This review has to be more on the idea of the recipe. I used buscuit mix and added brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla to it. I then kneaded it briefly and used a tablespoon to scoop out drops which I rolled in cinnamon/sugar mix. Using my fingers and the spoon I made them round and flattened them into buscuits. They were yummy with butter on them and like regular bicuits they freeze and micro pretty easy. Thanks for the idea! It is a nice alternative to cold cereal or pancakes.

Anytime Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
This did not go over well at a picnic that I went to but I thought it was yummy and so did my mother-in-law. I did add colored mini marshmellows and lime zest. It was quick and easy and I will love eating the leftovers.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
Very yummy! Next time I will cut back on the lemon juice because the kids thought it was too sour. I thought it was great. I did take others advice and use garlic instead of celery salt and I added bread crumbs. I am definately putting this recipe in our fish rotation.
