Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
REALLY yummy Bruschetta and the perfect appetizer for an Italian themed dinner. I lightly buttered the tops of each slice of Italian Bread and then put the tomatoe mixture on top plus the parmesan and then popped it in the oven...perfect!

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
Great crab cakes with minor adjustments to this recipe: I used twice the amount of crab meat and half the amount of ritz crackers. I used about 1.5 times the amount of spices to compensate for the addition of crab meat. REALLY YUMMY!

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2006
not spectacular only because there wasn't a lot of flavor. Didn't have any oat bran, but it came out fine without it.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
good...but be careful with the red pepper...it can accidentally make your taco meat too hot to handle (or eat)!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
SUPER easy and equally yummy! I love that you can control how much olive oil and salt goes into this recipe therefore making it way more healthy (but just as tasty if not better) than a restaurant's!

Awesome Turkey Sandwich

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
I'm on a mission to eat healthy so this recipe fit perfectly into my new meal plan. I left out the extra avocado (aka fat) by omitting the guacamole. I also used a little light miracle whip instead of a whole tablespoon of mayonnaise. And I made the sandwich into a wrap using a high fiber multi grain "flat-out" flatbread. It tastes too good to be so healthy!

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
This was a "pretty good" salmon recipe. I think for best results, you should marinade it over-night. One thing that bothered me a bit was that all the maple syrup really takes away from the inherent healthfulness of salmon...oh well

Caramel Brownies II

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
REALLY yummy and SUPER rich! Don't make these if you're on a diet...I don't care how much willpower you SAY you have! I made this for my sister's friends and my mum's coworkers...THEY LOVED 'EM! One thing though: there's gotta be an easier way to get the caramel sauce...maybe I'll try buying a jar of it next time...

Banana Pudding IV

This recipe was just so-so...but maybe just banana pudding as a whole isn't all that amazing...

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2005
So simple (like the title) and SO yummy. I made the cranberry orange version...perfection. For that chocolate fix, I added about 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips too...and about a tsp. of the juice from the orange I zested. Try it-- you'll love it!!!

Eggs Benedict

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2005
Great recipe...I made it for my mum on Mother's Day and she loved it. I would suggest using a store-bought packet of Hollandaise mix which will save you time and the worry of food poisoning + it tastes really great!

Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls

Make sure to go easy on the mint and basil...it may overpower the other flavors. As a tip, I would coat the shrimp in oyster & soy sauce for some flavor.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2005
I made this for the first time, and it turned out pretty tasty! I added a bit more vanilla and cinnamon than the recipe asked for and used half & half instead of just milk...I would say that those adjustments made it even better.

I didn't use the ground meat in mine because I wanted to keep the dip light. The other 7 Layers were excellent though!

Really good, but be careful with the cayenne pepper...some of my mushrooms had a bit too much and made my guests sneeze!
