So tonight for dinner I made the recipe for Creamy bow-tie pasta with chicken and broccoli.. Well, with a twist. I forgot to get the pasta sauce
(Forgetful Lucy - I love the movie 50 First Dates!) so I had to make some improvisions. To simplify my life I used Green Giant Steamers Broccoli w/ cheese.. that you cook in the microwave for 7 minutes, and I bought it with a coupon ; ) BONUS!! Anyway,
since I didn't have pasta sauce I decided to keep the chicken and pasta seperate. I added the cream cheese to the pasta with the broccoli and cheese and about a half a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. I also used chicken thighs instead of chicken breast.. because
the thighs were on sale this week.. so I didn't cut the chicken into pieces. After it was all said and done it turned out great. Wasn't to hard to prepare and not a bad mess to clean up either.. Win ~ Win!!
Hubby said "favor is excellent on the chicken" and "pasta's pretty good"
The Kid said "Pasta was good" (didn't eat any chicken; sometimes she's a "vegetarian" until there's a chicken nugget around ; )
I say - Overall a solid dish.. even with alterations it turned out really well.. Definitely like the flavors of the KRAFT Roasted Red Pepper with Parmesan Dressing and chicken.
