Simple Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
Excellent. My daughter (16) loved this! Used my own sauce instead of jarred....very good.**update...I just made this the other night and used a 12 oz bag of fresh spinach in which I chopped but did NOT cook but did add to the cheese mixture. It was amazing this way! Thanks for the recipe Laura.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
VERY easy, with good taste. Next time, I will add garlic to the sauce as well (didn't read the reviews prior to making and there are some good ideas in there). I halved the potato, then halved the half, then sliced it thin and baked at 350 degrees and they were done within an hour Thanks Dorothy!!

Tomato Spinach and Bean Burrito

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
Very disappointed. I used black beans and fresh spinach and other than that made it per recipe and did not care for it. I even tied it with tortilla chips (as a dip). It was just bland. I'm not sure what to do with the overwhelming amount that is left over.....this makes more like 8 servings. I love all of these ingredients....but didn't care for this...sorry Lisa, thanks anyway.

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
Kids loved this. It does make a ton, so consider cutting it in half to frost 48 cutouts. Thanks Kathy!

Garlic Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
Yum. Hub went salmon fishing so I have a lot of fresh filets to use up. I used lemon pepper in addition to the slices and added more garlic (merely because I love it). This went over very well, Thanks Lili!

Savory Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
I made this for Thanksgiving and I agree the proportions are way off....well that is unless you like very watery gravy...and would equal a three star. My daughter was making this..per recipe, and when I saw it, I was like waaayyy to thin. My Mom piped in with "don't panic...mash some butter with some flour and add it to the gravy...whisk it in there and this way you won't get lumps" Only her! Anyway it made for a tasty gravy with the addition of the extra flour. Next time I will make the rue first and then add the stock and potato water. Thanks Veronica.

Chicken and Herbs in White Wine

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
My family LOVED this. The all of the seasonings made a very tasty gravy, and the chicken was so tender. I used an oven roaster and did it in the oven. I skipped mixing the seasonings in a bowl...and just sprinkled them right onto the roaster to my hearts content, and then poured in the broth & wine (really not having a problem with overwhelming greenness). I also added potatoes & carrots in with the shrooms and onion. Good eats lilsis, and thanks!

Thousand Island Dressing I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
Very good, and worked well on reubens, however the evaporated milk may throw you off a bit. I just happened to have extra evap. milk from a different recipe hence the reason I tried this, but I would not open up a can just to use a half tsp. Thanks Cheryl!

Janet's Famous Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
Man, this has sooo much sugar! After 2 days, which by then my normal recipe is gone, it was hard on the outside as well as the inside. I agree with another reviewer who said it lacked the sponginess of normal banana bread. I probably won't make again...sorry Mari.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
Good recipe Arnie, BUT where is the direction on what to bake it on?? Of course I knew, but for those out there who don't...it could be messy. Any hoo, I softened the butter and mixed the bread crumbs right into that mixture for easier brushing. The pecans are a must...if baked right, they will "pop" in your mouth and compliment the salmon. Thanks!!

Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
Tasty on a cool evening. I only pureed the potatoes and left the broccoli chopped. Very thick, stick to your ribs soup and great with hot fresh baked french bread. I will add garlic next time. Thanks Ruth!

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak II

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
This was good, but salty even though I cut the soy to 1/4 cup, and added a cup of beef broth (no water). I too used tri color peppers and sliced onion it was a very "pretty" dish. Thanks CBCBROWN!

Egg Drop Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
I've only had egg drop soup one time, from a local take out and it honestly wasn't my favorite. This recipe rocked over that one! I had a half bowl, and my husband ate the rest....he loved it! I too cooked the green onions in the broth and also added a sprinkle of chicken bouillon and an extra egg. Tasty! Thanks Patsy.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

I'm gonna rate this a five because my daughter couldn't stop eating it...she loved it. After I mixed some chinese hot mustard in my bowl, I too loved it. Very easy to make..although I used a cup of frozen peas & carrots (thawed) vs. chopping the carrots. Thanks for the easy recipe jostander!

Asian Orange Chicken

Yummy. I agree with Jeannette, about the breading crumbling off while trying to stir in the sauce....pouring it over would be better. Thanks for the tasty recipe Harry!

Delilah's Frosted Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
I too had unruley dough....which when I added more flour, it made them too floury...which was a good thing because it really balanced out the sugary frosting. I loved how "cakey" these were...good cookie, the kids enjoyed frosting and decorating them. Thanks Delilah!

Remoulade Sauce a la New Orleans

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
Excellent. I too will cut the salt down next time, because between the salmon patties that I served this with and these...something was a wee bit salty. A pain to make, but well worth it. Make it early and then refrigerate to let the flavors mingle. Thanks for the post Cookincowgirls!
