Very easy - A keeper - added less pickle relish and a bit more hot horseradish. Everyone loves it!

Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2002
I was skeptical about this so I cut the receipe down to two servings to test it out on Ron and I. That was a mistake - Ron was begging for more and I had to part with some of mine!!!! This is a keeper and real easy to make.

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2002
This is delicious, easy and quick - but I agree with other viewers that it would probably be great if Fresh beans were used - I would use a little less Parmeasan cheese - I suggest tasting it using less cheese and adding more to suit your taste.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2002
It was good and I will try it again - I only had thin chops so I cut down the cooking time and I used canned beef broth rather than having to play with the water and cubes and it worked out fine. I also followed other viewers suggestions and sauted some onions and mushrooms. Served it with mashed potatoes using the gravy from the chops. Next time I will use thicker chops and I think what I now consider a good recipe might be a great recipe. It's a keeper.

Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2002
Super!!!! I am just getting around to rating this and thank you submitter. I have served this many, many times and there is never enough. Currently it's my favorite item to bring to parties. I do add more bacon (because we love bacon) and I make more sauce than called for but no one can go wrong with your directions. Thanks again.

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2002
This is delicious and easy to make. My boyfriend said I can make it any time. I did follow others suggestions and added cubed potatoes - don't think I would make it without the potatoes - gave it a nice texture - I also added a bit more water since I added potatoes and was glad I did since it started to stick to the bottom of the pan near the end. Served it with buttered rye bread.

Basil Tomato Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2002
This recipe is probably delicious as is but I had to change things to go with what was in the cupboard. Scaled it to 4 people, but fed 2 since I only had thin bone-in chops. Didn't have peppers but used a 14 l/2 oz. can of diced tomatoes that had peppers in it. I also cooked the onions with the chops as others suggested. I had a package of cajun rice which I made so I didn't use the water and cornstarch to thicken the sauce. The sauce was nice enough to pour over the rice and chops. I also had some leftover corn which I threw in. Since the chops were thin I only cooked them for 45 min. It's a keeper recipe since it's easy and adaptable to what's on hand and also delicious.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
Thanks Rebecca. We loved it! Used cheddar cheese since that was all I had on hand. Followed directions exactly. The sauce was so easy to make - had extra - used it the next day on a sandwich made on french bread, a declicate leafy lettuce, thin slices of black forest ham, brie cheese, tomatoes and the sauce - Outrageous!!

Bahama-Mama Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
I'm not a lover of sweet food but this was very good and the rest of my family does like sweet on occasion - we must comprimise!!!! They voted that this is a keeper and it was so easy to make. I followed another reviewer's suggestion and used a large can of pinapples and added 3/4 of the juice to the sauce mixture - next time I might use it all since I found that the sauce mixture was starting to stick to the bottom of the pan at the end of 15 minutes. Thanks for the recipe Chrstine.

Balsamic Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
It's a keeper - so good and easy. I plan to try some of the other reviewers suggestions - like trying the bourbon!!! If you are a mushroom lover also try AllRecipes "Mushroom Saute". Equally delicious - I go back and forth between both - my family actually likes Mushroom Saute a little better - but it's nice to have a change.

A Jerky Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2002
If you haven't eaten jerk chicken this is a good recipe but there are better ones out there. The ones I've used have these ingrediants and a lot more, like orange juice, white wine vingar in addition to the red wine, scallions, ginger, etc. If you like this recipe, then look around for others and sample the differences. Once you come up with a great jerk sauce, you can use it on chicken, beef, pork, etc.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2003
I made this once before and gave it a 3 star rating. Even though my company liked it I told all of you that I felt I had overbreaded it, lacked garlic flavor and was dry. I tried it again today and now give it 5 stars. - I followed the recipe exactly last time - this time I made changes. Like others, for 4 chicken breasts I ended up doubling EVERYTHING! After preparing the oil and garlic, I poured it in a baggie along with the chicken and marinated in the frige for 2 hours (less or more time will improve the taste). So as not to overbread the chicken, I used the shake and bake method and put the seasoned breadcrumbs and cheese in another bag and shook the chicken a piece at a time, shaking off the excess. I also cooked it less, 425 degrees for 25 min. It was outrageous!!!! The chicken was moist, infused with garlic flavor, you could taste the moistness of the parmesean cheese and the house smelled scrumptious! I served it with Fettucine Alfredo, cranberry sauce and a salad with Italian dressing. I plan to make it again next week and serve it with spaghetti w/red sauce,a salad and Italian bread. A definite keeper - glad I tried it again.

Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with Pistachios

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2003
My family liked it and I thought it was a nice change from the normal brussel sprouts in butter. I will steam the sprouts a little longer next time since I like them soft. I'll make it again.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2003
This was very good. The red wine vinegar really does the trick! I did what other reviewers suggested and cooked bacon and then sauted the veggies in the grease for a short time. We love bacon so everyone loved the flavor of the crumbled bacon on the top.

Apple Bacon Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2003
Thanks Jennifer! As one reviewer said, it has a complex taste which is great - something different. If you followed the directions to a T it has to be great - I sometimes change things and add a little more of what my family likes. We all love bacon so I used a few more slices, then I did saute all vegetables in some of the bacon fat rather than oil. I also used kidney beans since I didn't have pinto beans. It's a keeper and it can definitely be made a day ahead since it is more flavorful the next day.

Simple Malaysian Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2003
Delicious and easy. I followed recipe to the letter and it turned out great - only one word of advice - cook this on a day that you can keep windows open - I cooked it the day of NYC's blizzard this year - my house smelled of curry for five days since it was too cold to open the windows to air the house out! This recipe is a keeper though.

Curried Peas

Reviewed: May 11, 2003
Delicious and Easy! Everyone enjoyed it. Wouldn't change a thing. I had to use canned diced tomoatoes since the tomatoes at the vegetable store weren't good - but now I know that the recipe can accommodate either fresh or canned. Another thing I found - we had some left over today - I tasted it cold and the and the flavors had blended in even more. This is a recipe I know I can do a day ahead now and serve cold during the summer. Thanks Gayathri!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: May 18, 2003
This was extremely easy and delicious. Actually, I'm teaching my signifcant other to cook and I supervised him while doing it. He was so proud of himself with the results. He did make one mistake - he doubled the amount of garlic powder but it tasted great and I think I will continue to make that mistake!
