Spicy Orange Teriyaki Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
Outrageous! I prepared the marinade, using crushed pineapples since that is what I had. Let me tell you, when I tasted the marinade it tasted pretty nasty and I almost didn't use it. I let the pork cubes marinade overnite. I added green peppers, fresh pineapple chunks, onions and cherry tomatoes to the skewers and just basted the skewers while they were cooking. Let me tell you - this was spicy but we loved it. This is going on my kabob rotation list. Thank you submitter.

Zesty Coleslaw

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
Delicious - I have four favorite coleslaw recipes from this site and now I am adding this when I want one with a kick. Only change was that I used all Hellmann's mayo. This is so creamy. Thanks submitter.

Taiwanese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
This was just ok for us. I made two chops with the breading and two without it. We preferred the chops without the breading - as others suggested I did marinade it for 3 hours.

Cucumber Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
Personally I would not have given it five stars but my guy LOVED IT! He said it was probabaly one of my best soups - and I make lots of soups. He had it every night before dinner until it was gone. I followed the recipe exactly. He loved the almonds in it so I guess I won't leave that out the next time I serve it.

Delicious - used half hot italian sausage and half sweet italian sausage - doubled the spices and added some oregano.

Emily's Famous Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
I'm giving it a 5 even though I had to cut back on the hot spices. I totally eliminated the chili powder and the jalapeno deciding I could add it near the end. It was definitely hot enough for us without it so I never did add them. For those who love killer, hot chili - go for it all. What we did love was the smokey heat flavor of the chipotle peppers. Will make it again. Thanks submitter!

Pat's Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
Well Patricia you have accomplished what I've been trying to do for the past 5 years. When I was little and visited my grandmother in Greenpoint, Brooklyn she served a potato salad from a local deli that I just LOVED. I've never forgotten the taste. I've been trying for years to duplicate it and never even came close - your invention is a match!! I couldn't believe it - it nearly brought tears to my eyes. Talk about comfort food! Happily when my guy tasted it he loved it too. Thanks so much Patricia - All Recipes Rocks!!!!

BBQ Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
We always make baby back ribs but decided to try the country ribs. This was easy to make and I agree with others that the lemon really does add a lot to the dish. All said I done - we prefer the baby backs and will use this recipe cutting back on the cooking time when I am in a rush. Really did enjoy that lemon flavor in it! Thanks submitter.

Charlotte's Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
This got just an okay review when we had it on the first day - a few days later it tasted greasy. I wouldn't make it again.

Fruited Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
This is identical to Fruity Curry Chicken Salad on this site except one calls for onions and the other calls for green onions. They are both delicious and the curry isn't overpowering.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
Wow - this blew us away! The simplicity of it was wonderful. I followed recipe exactly and just adding a tablespoon of crushed garlic as others suggested. The steak seasoning I chose was McCormick's Montreal Steak seasoning (that stuff is great!!). My roast was about 2 1/2 lbs. but cooking it for just an hour was perfect. This meat was so juicy and delicious. Thanks submitter!

Pasta Isabarte

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
I didn't like this at all but my guy loved it. I cut the recipe in half and based on other reviewers I used an entire 32 oz jar of sauce and it was perfect (not too dry and not to saucy. I used suggested amount of eggs and didn't even know it was in it so if you might want to increase it as others did. My complaint was the very strong taste of the peppers and onions. It makes a lot of pasta.

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
This was good and easy. I could not understand why you would add oil to the pan before cooking bacon but I decided to try it and see why. What a great idea. The bacon pieces crisped up evenly and didn't stick to the bottom of the pan. I did end up getting rid of almost all the grease though. The only change I would make is not to add the olive oil at the end. It made it too greasy for us. Would make this again with that change.

Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
Easy to make - my quality of Balsamic Vinegar wasn't very high grade so I am looking forward to making it again with a better vinegar. Definitely add the black pepper!

Pasta with Kielbasa and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
This was delicious. The city of Linden has some really wonderful Polish stores and they have freshly made Kielbasa which is out of this world. I was looking for a new way to use it and found this recipe. It's a keeper - the only addition to this was to add some caraway seeds and thyme. The thyme was a great addition. Will make this again. Thanks submitter.

Mom's Best Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
For us this was a 5 star ONLY if you cut out the sugar!!! When I read all the reviews the majority said that it was way to sweet so I decided to trust them and completely eliminated the sugar. Even without the sugar I thought this was still a little too sweet so I added a tablespoon of dry mustard. That did the trick for us - a little heat with the sweetness - I will make this again. All the vegatables in it was great. - Oh - this makes a lot. I had cut the recipe in half and there was still ALOT of macaroni salad.

Doreen's Ham Slices on the Grill

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
Oooooh so good!!!!! I followed recipe exactly except for using the broiler instead of a grill. The sauce was out of this world. I was only cooking one ham slice but made the full amount of sauce for 2 slices - so glad we did. We didn't have a drop of sauce left (we used it for dipping too). This sauce is a keeper and we will use it on pork chops too. Thanks submitter.

Happiness Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
Forgot I had bought asparagus last week and they were starting to look pathetic and couldn't grill or roast them. Found this recipe. Great recipe. Steamed the asparagus for only 3 minutes since they were starting to get soft. The only addition I made to this was to add a teaspoon of chinese garlic chili sauce and also used canned mushrooms since that was what I had on hand. The presentation they suggested did sound lovely but I made this early in the day so I just threw everything in a bowl and reheated it. Green beans could easily be substituted in this recipe. Will make this again.

Spiral Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2008
Wonderful! When I first tasted it I wasn't sure I would like it since I could taste the ketchup. It sat overnight and all the flavors blended. Can't belive how good it was and as others said - different that just the normal Italian dressing. Looking forward to making this often in the summer. Was great to take to work for lunch. Thanks so much submitter.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2008
This is so simple and quick to make and truly delicious. I made this exactly as written and while I was making it I thought I had made this before. Sure enough, I found the exact recipe but it called for penne pasta. After eating this with the bow ties we felt that the penne pasta went better. Only a preference though - defintely try this. I never have leftovers.
