Hearty and easy - didn't have stewed tomatoes on hand so used a can of diced tomatoes and added dried italian herbs.

BUSH'S® Caribbean One-Pot Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
A Winner! Followed exactly except for using 2 cans of beans. Remember this is BUSH's recipe. They are pushing their beans - which are good. At the end I thickened the sauce by trying a new method (new for me that is!)that I saw the Barefoot Contessa use on TV. With a fork combine 2 tablespoons of softened butter with 3 tablespoons of flour and then add a little at a time to the sauce to reach the thickness you desire. It might be adding more calories but it does keep the richness of the stew going!!

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Just cooked this - ate the entire dish by myself which I've never done before - was always able to control myself - have to come up with another veggie for dinner and I can't focus because I am so full! By the way - have never been a great fan of broccoli but this was addictive for me! Listened to other reviewers and cut salt in half - next time I will cut it back even a bit more. Thanks submitter!!!

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
I'd give it a 10! Followed ingredients exactly but did saute some mushrooms. I made this after work so the only change I made was to cook the chicken in oil in a frying pan to speed things up. I can't believe how wonderful the pasta tasted cooked this way - could taste the chicken broth and the lemon!! I can't stop talking about this dish. This would be very impressive as an appetizer! Thanks submitter!!!

Brussels Sprouts with Grapes

Quick and different - I think it would be fun to serve to guests. This is made even quicker if you buy the Steamfresh Brussels Sprouts. Thanks submitter.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
I followed this exactly! The best pot roast I have ever tasted. When I cook a pot roast my mother's way I am able to slice the meat - when it is cooked this way the meat just falls apart which is the way I like it. Served it with mashed potatoes. Can't wait to eat the leftovers. I cooked a 3 3/4 lb rump roast and it just served the two of us last night and the 2 of us will finish it off tonight so I don't see how this could serve 8.

One - Two - Three - Mexican Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2009
I would make this again especially if I were doing a mexican theme. I used medium salsa and the next time I would use a hot one. What I did was add hot sauce to it since it was not spicy enough and I overdid it and I completely forgot about adding the olives. My fault. Thanks submitter.

Caribbean-Spiced Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I agree with other reviewers. This was a very moist chicken but I think it lacked flavor. The skin had flavor but that was about it.

This one is not for us-as others said- this would make a great egg salad. I ended up adding some curry powder to it.

Green Beans With Shallot Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
Simply DELICIOUS! I doubled the bacon since we love bacon. Did not have shallots on hand so I minced some onion and garlic and I cooked them in the bacon fat before adding them to the dressing.I would could back a bit on the mustard next time but that is only my preference. Thanks submitter.

Swanson® Roasted Chicken with Caramelized Onions Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
It is TRULY cold here in the tri-state area and wanted to make chicken soup. Made this one and was disappointed - the soup definitely tasted like Onion soup and maybe I should not have been surprised since it said Carmelized Onion. I would only make this again if I had a desire for Onion soup - I was looking to taste chicken soup with a mild onion flavor.

Chinese Barbequed Spareribs

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
These were delicious and did taste like Chinese style spareribs. I was only cooking one rack of baby back ribs (about 2 lbs.)but made the sauce for 4 lbs. of ribs. I did not change one thing in the recipe except for the cooking time. I cook ribs constantly in the oven and I know that mine would not have been done in 1 hour at 300 unless I had parboiled them first. I ended up cooking them for 2 hours and basting them every 30 minutes for the first hour and then every 15 minutes for the 2nd hour - which explains why I used up all the sauce. I broiled them for 3 minutes before I took them out which gave them that nice charred flavor and look that you get in the restaurant. This was easy and I will be making this again. Thanks submitter.

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
Wow was this recipe a lifesaver! Got home late and had to get a special dinner on the table in a half hour. Followed the filet mignon directions exactly and while I kept an eye on that I threw a bag of "steamed peas" in the micro for 4 min., then cooked a Knoors butter noodle dish for 10 minutes in micro. I served the filet mignon exactly as direted and it was delicious -would have love to have sauteed mushrooms or done other things with it but this was just great as it was. Thanks submitter. P.S. The sauce was delicious - mashed potatoes would have been great to use the sauce with.

Chicken Tequila Fettuccini

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Absolutely delish!! Followed everything exactly except used only l/2 the amount of pasta as others suggested. The amount of sauce was perfect for us - I would suggest doubling the sauce if you made the whole pound of pasta. The 8 oz of pasta served 4 of us. Thanks submitter.
