One-Skillet Italian Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2015
Super, Super easy and ready in no time. I used half hot and half sweet sausage and added just a bit more Italian seasoning to our taste and some wine when it started to stick to the skillet. Was only cooking for 2 so we enjoyed the leftovers for lunch - gets better as it sits. Served with a salad and garlic bread - and wine!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2015
This was just ok. I ended up broiling this in the oven and the savings grace to this were the juices that accumulated in my roasting pan which I poured over our rice and kabobs. If I had grilled it and didn't have those juices the kabobs would have been flavorless. I did HAVE to add more honey when prepared the marinade. I did have some leftovers (which is rare) and I was told that it did taste better the next day.

Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2015
I made this awhile ago and we really liked it. The liquid smoke was a great addition - I broiled it and it tasted as if it came from a grill. Thanks submitter.

Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2015
This was a nice light tasting pasta. There were only 2 of us so I prepared for 4 to have leftovers for lunch the next day. That turned out to be a good idea. I followed recipe exactly except I did not use oil. Didn't need it. Thanks submitter.

Picadillo

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2014
We like Picadillo and like trying different versions of it. Had to use Italian sausage since I didn't have chorizo on hand. I am sure chorizo would have added more flavor to it but we did enjoy this. Served it with "Black Beans and Rice" from Allrecipes. It was a nice dinner and enjoyed the leftovers for lunch.

Parmesan Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2014
More than delicious...... The only thing wrong with this recipe is saying to use 6 brussel sprouts for 2 people. I used 18 for the 2 of us and it wasn't enough!!! I could not stop eating them before dinner, during dinner and after dinner. So easy to make and can't wait to make it again.

Chef John's Five-Spice Carrots

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2014
Easy and a great taste. DO NOT go crazy with the five-spice powders. A little goes a long way with this spice. I added some black pepper to it.

Cream Of Carrot Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2014
Good and super easy!!! I followed exactly except for increasing carrots to 3 cups. It ended up being extremely thick so I had to thin it out a little using more chicken broth. Next time I won't make any changes. I loved the taste of the soup before adding the curry powder and did like it with the curry powder. Next time I think we will eat it the first time without the curry and add the curry the next day for a different taste.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
I have made this many times over the years but never reviewed it. I saw this in this month's Allrecipes Magazine which reminded me that I haven't made this in a long time. It is definitely 5 star both as written or if you want to make some minor changes to your taste. My guy, like others, likes lots of beef in his stew so I used 3 lbs of beef, 5 cups of beef broth, one cup of cabernet wine ( my preference over the cubes and water). I left everything else the same as written for 2 lbs, except for increasing the spices a bit to taste since there was more liquid. As others suggested, I increased the cornstarch and water to 6 tsp. each to accommodate the increase in liquid. At the very end, I added some frozen peas. I don't like mushy peas. Thanks again submitter and thanks Allspice for adding and oldie but goodie to your magazine.

Baked Chicken Reuben

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2014
As other said, I liked all the ingredients and thought this would be a five. I followed recipe except for reducing the Thousand Island Dressing. I am glad I did because the baking dish was swimming in sauce. I didn't finish mine and my partner did but we got rid of the leftovers. It was easy to make - oh, I also reduced the cooking time to 50 minutes and it was cooked. I would think it depends on the thickness of the chicken.

Easy Salsa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2014
Would make it again but I think I would kick this one up a notch by using a very good Hot Salsa because of the cheese. Maybe some sour cream on the side. The measurements were right on the mark. Not too dry, not too mushy for our tastes. I served it with baked potato and corn on the cob. Oh, I did use a can of tomato sauce to pour over the top before putting it in the oven. Sprinkled some dry parsley on the top to make it look pretty. Thanks submitter.

Black Beans and Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2014
SIMPLE, quick and delicious. Followed recipe exactly and following other viewers suggestions I spiced up the chops a bit by rubbing in some Goya Seasoning with pepper and some chili powder on them. Also, added a small can of corn at the end of cooking. Served with Spanish Rice. I used thin pork chops since that was all I had and I would reduce the cooking time to 20 min. the next time if the chops were thin. Squeezing some lime juice on the dish when platted was a nice touch. Thanks submitter.

Italian Sausage Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2014
It does have the flavor of sausage. We loved it. I used all the ingredients as stated except for the amount of glaze. I was only making one rack of ribs but I made enough glaze for 2 racks and I am glad I did. I never would have had enough if I had cut that in half. The rub being cut in half for the 1 rack was fine. This is a keeper. Can't wait to try it on friends to see the expression on their faces when they taste it. Thank you submitter.

Aw-some Coleslaw

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
AWESOME and EASY!! Only change i made did make this dish a snap. Used a 1 lb (16 oz) bag of coleslaw with carrots. I poured the cabbage on a cutting board and used a chrf's knife to chop it up even more than it was. Other than that I followed recipe exactly and it was perfect. I've reviewed at least 8 coleslaw recipes on this site and this moves to the top. As others said .. A lot like KFC. Thanks submitter.
