Shrimp Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2014
Delish favor! The Chicken in a Bisquit crackers seal the deal for me. Really can't make ahead of time though. They get all watery and deflate.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
Great, EASY recipe! I omitted green peppers and used 2 cans diced tomatoes for the other tomato products (1/2 recipe). Tastes great and my "chili expert" of a husband loves it! We used to use McCormick's seasoning packet and I stopped because I didn't like all the preservatives and who knows what else is in there. This is a perfect substitute and I usually have all the ingredients on hand.

House Fried Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
Wonderful! My husband and 2 young kids loved it. I omitted the bell peppers and went with traditional peas and corn. Plus I only did shrimp. Who doesn't love 2 LBS of SHRIMP?!?

Mom's Salmon Mousse

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
I only cooked it for 45 minutes and it was a little dry to me, but my guests loved it! I also separated it into two and saved the second one for the next day. We sliced it and made salmon sandwiches with it!

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
Like other posts, I think it was lacking in flavor slightly, but orange or lemon zest would be great. Also, toward the end of rolling it out it became very crumbly and was hard to work with. It may have been I handled it too much with my 4 year old helping me, but it was frustrating.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Excellent! We all loved it :) I doubled the carrots and added a little oregano. Next time I would add some mushrooms the last hour.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2013
While the recipe was delicious, it is a bit sweet. I guess it depends on the type of apples you use, but I would definitely cut the sugar in the apples back by half. I also like my apples a little more cooked than this so I would add another 5 minutes. And the key to thicker consistency is letting it sit for 10 minutes after removing from the oven. I know, CRAZY! Who can watch a hot apple crisp for 10 minutes without eating it. Trust me, it's worth the wait.

Sauteed Swiss Chard with Parmesan Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2013
I bought a share with 6 bunches of swiss chard and had to get creative with the recipes. This was a perfect side dish to our meal - even my kids liked it, which earned it the 5 stars.

Braised Italian Sausage Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2013
I read the reviews about the "different" flavor this stew had and since I do not like fennel or Italian sausage, I changed the meat to Kilbasa and we all loved it! Like other reviews I added a bit more barley and extra mushrooms, cause I love them. I also added an extra cup of water to balance out the extra barley. Thanks for a great stew.

Easy Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2013
Pretty good recipe. I read the reviews and drained some of the juice from the diced tomatoes and I felt it was a little dry. After it finished cooking I removed the pot from the crock and let it sit for about 30 minutes and it thickened right up and came out looking like regular lasagna. Husband loved it, kids wouldn't touch it - go figure - red and green and gooey looking :)

Shrimp on the "Barbie"

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
The best grilled shrimp I've ever had. My only tip is, the bigger, the better when it comes to cooking raw shrimp. Less work, faster prep, and more meat! I serve with fresh mango. Delish!

Lasagna-Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2013
Love, love, love this recipe. I take it to dinner parties and my family requests it regularly. I have used portabella for main dished and regular brown mushrooms for appetizers. I read all the reviews and spray the outside with olive oil a few times before cooking to keep from drying out. If you have someone who doesn't like mushrooms, simply take the extra (there will be plenty) and put it in an oven safe pirex and cook with others. It's great that way too! Sometimes the mushrooms are still raw in the middle depending on how thick they are but that doesn't bother me. Enjoy!

Salmon and Swiss Chard Quiche

Such a delicious flavor even my kids love it! I do make sure I chop the chard small and add the stems first to help them soften a little more.
