Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
Absolutely love this recipe!!! Delicious!! I added green onions and red peppers for more color and taste. I cooked the peppers and onions in olive oil for 5 minutes before adding them. I also added a little garlic powder to the batter and to the sauce. Oh and I didn't have any orange food coloring... so I used yellow :-) YUM!

Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
This was AWES OME!!!! YUM YUM YUM! I did cut everything in half because it was only my husband and I eating. I DID NOT cut the sauce in half though... So glad I didn't... the sauce was awesome! I also cooked the chicken for 15 minutes covered with foil, added the sauce, and then cooked for another 30 minutes uncovered. So glad I did! The sauce was already starting to "brown" on the sides of the dish from it over cooking. This was seriously restaurant quality!!!! YUM YUM YUM!

Green Bean Bundles

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
THESE WERE FABULOUS! I did NOT make the sauce though. We were serving them with a red wine balsamic glaze steak recipe from this site... so we just used that glaze to drizzle over the green beans and MAN was it good!!!!!

We tripled this glaze recipe, added 2 table spoons of brown sugar and a little corn starch to thicken it..... and WOW is all I can say. We ended up serving it over some KC strip steaks, red garlic mashed potatoes, and bacon rapped green beans and WOW WOW WOW. One of my favorite meals I have ever made!!!! I can't wait to make this again!

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
Another 5 star rating added to this cake recipe!! It is well deserved. I did add a few things to this cake only because I was wanting a strawberry angel food cake. The only thing different I did was add 1 teaspoon of strawberry vanilla extract and a 3oz box of strawberry gelatin. I added the extract when I added the vanilla and almond and I sifted the gelatin with the flour and cofectioners' sugar. For icing I did 1 pint of strawberries pureed, 16 oz of confectioners' sugar, 1/4 cup of butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. MAN O MAN O MAN. This cake was seriously like something straight out of a bakery. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!

Chicken Lo Mein

I to added more noodles! Probably like 12 oz. I also did the frozen veggies which made this recipe super easy. I did add some garlic and and onion to my veggies though and seasoned the chicken and veggie mixture with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and more soy sauce. YUMMY! Definitely will make again.

Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
My rating is really only based on the cake part. Because based on the previous reviews... I didn't want the lemon in the cheese filling and I am not a fan of nuts. So here is how I made this. I followed the cake instructions step by step except I sifted the dry ingredients and did 1/2 brown sugar 1/2 white. For the filling I did 8oz of cream cheese, 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 tablespoon of melted butter and a half teaspoon of vanilla extract. For the topping I did a streusel. 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 3 tablespoons of room temp butter, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. I sprinkled the crumble mixture on top and baked for 40 minutes. After the cake had completely cooled I put a glaze on top. For the glaze I took 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of melted butter, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 2 table spoons of milk. Mix and drop glaze from a spoon on to cake. After making those changes... this is one of the best coffee cakes I have ever had! Next time I will add a little more sugar to the cake and maybe a little almond extract.

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
Definitely not bad! I can see what a previous poster meant by a "froot loop" taste though. Like I said though... not bad! Taste alone this deserves 3 stars... but I really like the appearance of them... so I gave it a 4 out of 5!

Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
I also lowered the amount of cloves and upped the cinnamon. I probably put 2 table spoons of cinnamon! But I also love cinnamon :-). I thought this bread was pretty good! Just wish it would have been a little more moist.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
I also doubled the apples and chopped them super small. They were a huge hit with my husband and family... but just "okay" to me. There is another blueberry strudel muffin recipe on this site that I thought was much more moist and would do great by substituting the blueberry with apples. I personally would give it 3 stars... but since I got such rave reviews from the family... I will give it 4.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 24, 2011
Very good! I did not use mushrooms or green peppers because of personal preference. I also ended up having to cut my chicken into strips after 8 minutes in the skillet to speed up the cooking process. If I hadn't of done that it would have taken forever to cook.
