Creamy Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2012
This was so easy and really tasty! I used bl/sl thighs and seasoned them with Tony Cachera's and pepper. Also added broth and sour cream to the soup as suggested by the other reviewers, as well as a cup of frozen peas at the same time as the soup mixure. I served it over mashed potatoes. Everyone loved it, great base recipe that can be jazzed up to taste. Definately a keeper!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
So easy and delicious! I have made these several times in the past week. They come together so fast and taste great! No more pancake mix for us! I love using the vinegar method as opposed to buttermilk because I don't usually have buttermilk on hand. I do add a tsp of vanilla to the wet ingredients just out of preference. I also sift together the dry ingredients to add to the fluffiness. Just note that this yields about 8 pancakes, so unless you're having bacon, eggs, potatoes, etc, to go along with it, you'll want to double this recipe! This is a keeper!

Cabbage and Smoked Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: May 30, 2012
My low rating is for the dish prepared as published. It was very greasy and lacked flavor IMO. However, I made this again with a lot of my own adjustments and LOVED it! I only used a 1/4C. butter, no olive oil. I also browned the sausage first with a sliced onion, then removed the sausage and continued to cook the onion with the garlic and cabbage in the sausage grease/butter. The original recipe just lacked something and I couldn't figure it out really, but I did drizzle the whole thing lightly with soy sauce and BAM, it was delish! I will be making this again with the adjustments and love that it's very economical!

Strawberry Coffee Cake

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
This was excellent! I was searching for a way to use up some strawberries and I love that I had the rest of the ingredients on hand. I left out the nuts due to nut allergies in the family, but didn't miss them. This got rave reviews and was so simple. THANKS!!

Cindy's Jambalaya

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
This was SO GOOD!!! I only used sausage (all I had on hand so I used 1 lb). I didn't change anything else. I've been wanting to add a jambalaya recipe to my rotation and THIS IS IT! Comes together so fast and is really, really tasty! Thanks for this great recipe!

Guacamole

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
So delish! Just like Guac should taste. Next time I will leave the avocados more chunky because by the time you stir everything together, they mash down a lot. I also added a pinch of cumin as suggested... Awesome! I only had yellow onion, but red would be ideal. Thanks for this fabulous recipe!!

Zippy Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
I had really high hopes for this soup! It wasn't bad, but when made as posted, it was a bit bland and just missing something. With these changes, I think I'd bump it up to 4 stars: I ended up throwing in a small can of diced green chiles which was a good addition. Added some garlic salt too. I ended up using my potato masher to break up the potatoes for a less chunky texture. All that said, my husband did compliment it, but I'm not sure if I will make it again.

Albondigas Soup II

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2012
So good! The broth itself is very tasty! I am only giving 4 stars because I didn't make the recipe exact (didn't have cumin seeds, so I used 1 tsp of cumin powder, didn't add the pepper flakes so it wouldn't be too hot for my kids, used italian bread crumbs instead of crumbled bread). Also, next time I think I may skip the bell pepper. I don't think it really added anything special, I won't miss it. My husband and son both raved the whole time we were eating! Thanks for this great, easy recipe!

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
Very good! Loved that these are ingredients that I have on hand (with the exception of the sherry, still came out good). I did make extra gravy and served it over white rice. Yum, hubby liked it too! Thanks for this easy and tasty recipe!

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
This was great and so easy! I used russett potatoes because that's what I had on hand and they weren't crispy, but still very tasty. I also rubbed under the skin with some italian seasoning and garlic salt. Skin was crispy and meat was flavorful. My husband raved! Definately a keeper!
