Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
This is an excellent recipe. I made it exactly as it specifies in the recipe. Even my husband liked it and he doesn't usually eat rice! This is the closest to the canned version they used to sell in all of the stores but now I can't find it except for one thing. The rice isn't as mushy. It's way better this way and oh so good. I served it with pork.

Mom's Quick Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2012
I have been making the same recipe for years now but without the onion soup. Instead I sautee onions and green peppers in olive oil, the same as Melody aka Dumpling. I do not add the salami, though, but it does sound good. This is a basic recipe and once you have all of this made as the recipe calls for, you can add different ingredients to it. I love the easy, quick way this cooks up and it looks and tastes out of this world. And I thought I made it up! I guess others make it the same way I do.

Pecan Sandies

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
Oh, my oh my! This makes such good cookies. I will never again buy the cookies in a sack again. Delicious! Make a lot, is easy enough and just a great cookie. I used 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 2 tsp vanilla and it was just perfect!

Oranged Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2011
I've been making this recipe for a long, long time. I never use canned. It is wonderful! But one year just before Thanksgiving, we ate at a dinner playhouse. The chef came out at the end and talked to some of us and everyone told him how much they loved his cranberry sauce. He told us his secret of making this recipe but adding a piece of dark chocolate to the berries as they are cooking. I tried it and it's as if eating something heavenly. Try it. Just a dark chocolate kiss or two along with the the orange...mmmmmmm!

Anna's Amazing Easy Pleasy Meatballs over Buttered Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
I have been making something close to this recipe for about 46 years now, and everyone loves them. The only difference is that I make my own meatballs with lean ground beef about a pound. About a half cup oatmeal, about a quarter cup seasoned bread crumbs, 1/2 of a dice onion, 2 minced garlic cloves. 1 egg, 1 1/2 tsp Italian seasonings, 1/2 tsp sea salt. Mix all together, form meatballs and bake on a broiler for about 1/2 hour or until inner temp reaches 160 degrees on a meat thermometer. Then follow recipe as stated here, adjusting soups and cream cheese for a smaller amount of meatballs.

Cup of Everything Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
I would give this recipe more stars if I could. This is now my families favorite cookie. I didn't have any crispy rice cereal on hand, so I used bran flakes instead. Still, it turned out great. Next time I will be sure to use the crispy rice cereal. Wonderful, wonderful! Nice crunch to it too.

Best Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
I made this for the first time ever and all I changed was the broth. I didn't have but one can of beef broth, so I added the rest low fat chicken broth. Served it with garlic bread and used macaroni for noodles. Delicious. Will definitely make this again and again in my slow cooker.
