About this Cook
I grew up alongside my mother with sous chef responsibilities - chopping, dicing, peeling - you name it. She is an excellent cook and an inspiration to me.
My favorite things to cook
Baked desserts! There's something so sinfully delicious about it ...
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love hosting parties and potlucks. It gives me a chance to experiment and create new recipes as well as improve on the old ones.
My cooking triumphs
Whenever people enjoy my food.. and tell me about it. My friend has called me late at night telling me how she dreamt about my juicy, succulent pot roast. Another friend claims I make a better rice pudding than her grandma. Anytime someone enjoys my food, I'm happy.
My cooking tragedies
In a healthy kick, I try to cut corners anywhere I can. And sometimes... it comes out tasting like rubber. There is no substitute for butter!

Lemon Yummies
These cookies were indeed soft, but their subtle flavor left much to be desired. I suggest adding an additional teaspoon of lemon extract and maybe some frosting to boost the flavor.

English Royalty Chocolate Chip Scones
These are delicious and very flexible. For extra taste, I would try vanilla extract or almond extract, dried cherries, golden raisins... the possibilities are endless!

Angel Food Cake III
Even though I messed up the recipe a little bit, it tasted absolutely wonderful. I didn't have any cake flour on hand so I sifted regular all-purpose flour 3 times and then deducted 2 tablespoons. I also added half a teaspoon of almond extract, just to add another dimension to the angel food cake. The variations you can make are boundless. I would think adding lemon / orange zest would be great as well. Oh also, to prevent over-burning, perhaps you can try covering it with foil for 20 minutes or so. Yum!
