These were SO GOOD! I ued brown whole wheat flour (you couldn't taste it becuase of the molasses) and frosted with a glaze of 1 cup confectoneres sugar mixed with a drop of vanilla and a smidge of water. I also added red hots for buttons. So easy, so cute, so tasty!

Beer-Baked Irish Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
We made this for a St. Patricks day dinner. I don't usually like beef stews but this was AMAZING espically served with horse radish mashed potatoes. Here is what I changed: Used ZANTS instead of raisens (they are dried currents and are alot smaller than raisens). Added celery and did not use rutabegers or potatoes. Added the mashed potatoes to the soup when served. Rave reviews all around!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
I made this last night for friends--they all loved it even my friend's husband who just moved to the US from India! I added extra black beans and extra tomatoes as well as some cumin becuae it tasted too bland. Also, it was too much to fit in my slow cooker so I made it in a big pot on the stove. It didn't take quite so long to make and came out beautifully!

Easy Chocolate Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
SO easy and people thought I bought it at the store! I made this in a bunt pan as people recommended and then I poured the fudge on top and made sure to fill most of the fudge into the middle of the bunt. When you do this make sure your cake is on a pan with edges so the sauce doesn't get all over the counter!

Apple Chutney Chops

Delicious and sweet. It's easy to make but tastes like it took hours--perfect served with white rice and a greens salad at a dinner party. We added extra apples to the mix and extra curry powder to give it more POW!

Chicken Dumpling Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Rich and flavorful. I couldn't stop eating it. One WARNING--it's extreemly difficult to get the dumplings to form. I finally gave up and added the dumpling mixture to the soup which created a very rich broth. Also, I did NOT put chicken in the dumpling mixture and put it in the soup instead.

Christmas Banana Bread

This is a wonderful recipe. I usually use an extra bannana and skip the cherries. It always comes out moist and sweet. Because I am always making several things at once I end up baking this in my toaster oven which works perfectly.

Chive Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Delicious! We made it for guests who had seconds and thirds! Serve with garlic bread. We skipped the cream and added extra mushrooms (portabella and button) and extra chives. Goes well as a first course with pork chops with apple chutney--another fav. recipe on this site.

Fruit Pizza II

This recipe would be better if you made a shortbread crust...but the sugar cookie crust from the store is MUCH easier!

Chili I

This made a good soup but it did NOT taste like chili...it's missing a key spice, perhaps coriander?

Butternut Squash-Sweet Potato Ginger Bisque

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
This made MASSIVE amounts of soup. We froze it in single servings and are still enjoying it. For more flavor use 1/2 chicken broth and 1/2 water for extra flavor. I also added an extra zip with a lot of fresh ground pepper and went heavy on the ginger using a 4 inch piece.
