About this Cook
I LOVE being in the kitchen and cooking for people. I get pleasure watching friends enjoy my creations. Everyone who comes over knows they will be fed well and leave with a sweet tooth satisfied.
My favorite things to cook
Baking cookies, cakes, sweet breads, Greek food, mixing it up in the kitchen for dinner.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being Greek we don't know the concept to cook for just 1 or 2 people. We make an abundance of food for almost every meal and it never goes wasted.
My cooking triumphs
When I enjoy something in a restaurant (or see it on tv) and then re-create it at home with close to same, same or even better results, I am beyond giddy.

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II
Admittedly this is not the best looking cake out there, but I cannot tell you how delicious and perfect the icing was to my German chocolate cake. Everyone made me swear I actually made it and didn't buy it because it was that good. I used butter since I didn't have margarine and it took 20 minutes of constant stirring before it thickened up but well worth the effort.

Honey Wheat Bread I
OMG this was sooo good. I made 2 batches (4 loaves) last night and invited some friends over to try the bread and tell me if the recipe was a keeper. They all LOVED it 9and tried stealing my loaves!). My changes to recipe were I made it without bread pans, and baked them just on a cookie sheet in round, country style loafs. I also used salted butter instead of shortening, used 1/2 cup honey AND also made my own honey butter to baste (when it was done) and serve on the slices. It did take a REALLY long time to rise and double in size for both sets, but the end result was AWESOME. I will be making this weekly. No more store bought bread!

Zucchini Coconut Loaf
This loaf was DELICIOUS. I skipped the nuts though since I personally don't like nuts in my food, but the flavor, texture and combo of zucchini bread and coconuts was perfect. I moved into a new place back in October and made some loaves for my neighbors to introduce myself and they still rave about it.
