Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 15, 2014
I was in a hurry to make a fruit pizza and didn't have time to go to the store to buy sugar cookie dough. I found this recipe and pressed it into an 11x15 pan and it worked perfectly! I set the butter out to soften at room temperature until it was very soft and removed it from the oven at 9-10 minutes. I didn't check to see if I had overdone it since some said to take it out of the oven after 8 minutes, but I knew that the cream cheese I was going to put on top of it would soften it up if I did. Someday I will try making cookies with this recipe but I may not have to buy sugar cookie dough again!

Blueberry Buckle

OMG I can't stay away from this dessert! I didn't read the reviews before I baked, and I found the mix to be too thick to handle, so I added a little more milk and it worked out great. When I make it again, and I will, I'll try adding some brown sugar like others advised. The house smelled wonderful while this was baking! Thank you!!!!!!

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: May 1, 2005
Can I give these more than 5 stars? I have already made these 3 times. I have to make double batches because they don't last long!!! I love Turtle Sundaes, so instead of walnuts, I added pecans. These are SO good! Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
O...M...G... These are absolutely sinful and I normally don't like choc cookies. I've already made my 2nd batch in two days. I ran out of cherries and used two blueberries on a cookie and they were awesome, too! I didn't taste the cherry juice in the icing, and kept adding more juice to get it, but no luck. I wish I read the reviews first; I'll try adding some cherry juice to the dough. I also advise doubling the dough--you'll make the 2nd batch anyway! Because of the excess icing, I decided to make batch #2. I added more cherry juice to the icing, but I think it was too much. My cookies ended up spreading a lot, and the only difference was the icing. I tried one, though, and they're just as good!!!!! THANK YOU for this recipe! These are AWESOME!!!!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2014
Delicious! I used this on a chiffon cake because I wanted something light that wouldn't weigh down the cake. I used it between the layers and also on top, then I used royal icing flowers to decorate it, since this icing wouldn't work for piping. The royal icing flowers softened up a little bit, but they still looked great on the cake, even 4 hours later, when it was served. Thanks for the recipe!

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
I love penguins and so this recipe was perfect for my New Year's Party. I only had medium olives, so I used them for both the head and the body, trying to use smaller olives from the can for the heads, but regardless, worked out fine. I used the little X in the olives for the place to insert the carrot beak. Also, for the body, I cut two slits, to remove a wedge-like section instead of just one slit and opening up the olive. This way, I didn't have to fill the olive with too much cream cheese, and since I didn't have to hold it open, it made filling it easier. I also used a ziploc bag with the corner cut. super easy. My guests loved them and even wanted to make some themselves! I only made a partial recipe, so the remaining cream cheese was sliced up and layered to create ice floes on which the penguins stood. Thanks so much for the idea!!!

Tender Italian Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2013
I made this as directed and I couldn't believe how moist it was. I would follow other reviews and turn the chicken over for 5 minutes so that the bottom can get crispy too. Mine turned out soggy. But very tasty! Thanks!
