Baked Lamb Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2005
My husband and I love lamb chops, and I usually go for "the simpler the better." However, for a change I tried this recipe, and I was very pleased. As suggested I broiled for a minute or two to crisp up the breadcrumbs. Easy and tasty recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
Why I am reviewing this when it already has 1180 good reviews? It was that good! I LOVE meatloaf, and this is one of my two favorite recipes. The brown sugar and ketchup give it a great sweet-and-sour balance. Great comfort food!

Chinese Chicken Salad III

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
I made the dressing for this salad and tossed it with with grilled chicken (sprinkled with some Asian 5 spice powder), romaine lettuce, and chow mein noodles. The dressing is thick, has a good kick, and is very tasty.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
I made this for my birthday dinner, and everyone loved it. I used half beef and half Italian sausage, 4 cloves of garlic, and a little bit more fresh basil. The lasagna is very solid and easy to cut. My best friend gave me an AWESOME tip for making lasagna: Instead of using shredded mozzarella, buy it sliced. It was so easy to assemble!

Deep-Fried Turkey Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2005
The first time my husband and I deep fried a turkey, we injected a marinade. It was a pain, and it didn't give the meat an all-over flavor. Since then, we've used this recipe, and THIS IS THE WAY TO GO!!!! The marinade has the consistency of wet sand. I rub it on the skin, under the skin, and in the cavity. Once fried, all the spices become milder and form a sort of crust that you just slice right through. The meat is tender, moist, and incredibly flavorful. Awesome, awesome, awesome recipe!

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2005
Awesome marinade made with pantry staples. I think it would also work well, with a longer marinating time, on poultry, pork, or beef.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2005
Really good, really hearty, and best of all, really easy. I used canned beef broth instead of bouillon, and it had a great taste. The frozen veggies are another great addition. We had this for dinner as a one dish meal. Enjoy!

Swiss Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2005
I was being lazy, so I held off on going to the grocery store for as many days possible and made do with what we had in the house. Not a good idea. . . This was just fair. It had a very "pre-packaged" taste. I really doubt I'll make this again.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2005
I always thought my mom made the best rice pudding, but it turns out, I DO! Just kidding! This recipe was wonderful; we really enjoyed it. I suggest Trader Joe's vanilla paste if you can get it. Yum!

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2004
YUM! Some good friends came over for dinner this weekend, and I thought this would be a nice summer dessert. We all loved it. Someone even said, "This is better than chocolate!" I'm going to visit family this weekend, and I think I'll bring a pie along!

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2004
This was a good, basic recipe. I used very small red potatoes that I cut in half. I substituted olive for the butter and tossed it all in a foil bag (I just love those things!). Before serving, I drizzled with some red wine vinegar. A good recipe because odds are, you'll always have the ingredients on hand.

Fresh Salsa I

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2004
My best friend and her husband make this often. They got me hooked! It's so easy to make and wonderful to have in the fridge. I don't think I'll even buy salsa any more!

Hot Corn

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2004
Maybe I shouldn't have substituted fresh jalepenos for the ones is the jar-- this was crazy HOT! I liked it-- I like hot things-- but my husband couldn't handle the heat. It was okay but not really what I was hoping for. It was very creamy and heavy- more of a casserole than a veggie dish. I might try it again but probably not.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2004
This certainly isn't the prettiest dish that I've ever made, but you can't beat it for being tasty and easy. I put my "pies" together in disposal, foil cake pans. We have one for dinner, and the other one goes into the freezer for another night-- the recipe freezes beautifully.

Greek Style Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2004
I think these potatoes are fantastic. They have lots of flavor, and best of all, they're super easy to make. For even less clean up, I toss everything together right in the foil bag that I bake them in.

Jalapeno Poppers I

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2004
I made these for a dinner party. I just thought these were okay, but my guests thought they were fantastic. I guess that's what counts! What I did like was that they were baked rather than fried, and they weren't to hot for those with more "delicate" taste buds.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
I figured with all these reviews, I had to try this recipe. I'm so glad I did! It's very easy and delicious. I served it with Brown Rice. My husband had two huge servings. I will make it again, and it's perfect for company.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2002
This is a wonderful pound cake recipe. The cake is moist, has a wonderful crumb, and is firm and easy to cut. I used half almond and half vanilla extract as a few other reviewers recommended. It's so GOOD! It's also the perfect recipe for "tweeking"- lemon zest, different extracts, less sugar, etc. TRY IT!
