About this Cook
I have cooked for many years. Now the kids are grown, I don't cook as much as I used too. My husband is a diabetic I enjoy trying new healthier recipes. I have arthritis & we try to eat healthy as possible. I like to add my special touches to Recipes to make the recipe better for our health & enjoyment. I enjoy going to the Farmer's Market in the Spring thru the Fall. I also like to see what is new to try in the world of cooking.
My favorite things to cook
My husband likes to grill. I like to cook a lot of fresh vegetables during the summer months. I also enjoy making different types of salads when it is too hot to cook. I enjoy making homemade soups and stews when weather turns cold. I like to make enough to put up in the freezer.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy making special food items for the Holidays.
My cooking triumphs
I used to cook for our church for Family & Faith Nights many years ago. When my 2nd husband & I married, his 3 kids came over every other weekend. I had 1 child. For several years I made special birthday cakes for each kid's birthday.
My cooking tragedies
The first pecan pie I ever made could be eaten with a spoon. Sometimes cakes fall or a cake will not come out of the pan like it is supposed to.

Cranberry Upside-Down Coffee Cake
This is a Delicious and very easy Recipe! I used dried cranberries instead of the fresh cranberries. I poured the dried cranberries into some hot water for 1 minute to reconstitute. I dried the wet cranberries off with paper towels and then added them to the mix. I took this Coffee Cake to a morning Red Hat Society Meeting. There was nothing left except the plate to bring home. I took a copy of the recipe with me in case someone asked for the recipe. Several people asked for a copy of the recipe. I will positively bake this Recipe again for my family and friends.
