Chicken In Sour Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
The sauce is amazing! I added sliced potatoes and carrots to the dish and covered all with the sauce and baked for the hour suggested and the meal was complete and delish!

Glazed Meatloaf II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2006
Amazing! I have made this so many times. I use 7 grain bread (which my hubby hates) and he doesn't even notice. To save time I also make them in muffin cups and cook them at 375 for 30 minutes. I always serve them with mashed potatoes... isn't that how meatloaf is always served?? Enjoy!

Kielbasa Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
Very good but I think next time I'll use a can of tomato sauce and a can of diced or crushed tomatoes instead of the tomato soup.

Crunchy Romaine Toss

Unbelievably good and such a nice change from the traditional salad. I added cooked chicken breast to make it a meal and it was fantastic!

Pumpkin Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
I found this recipe very easy to make. I added each spice individually and didn't have trouble with them clumping but I did add the hot liquid to the eggs before pouring in and found that worked out okay. I also changed the milk to 3 1/2 cups instead of 4 and cooked it for 25 minutes and it was perfect. It tastes wonderful, just like a pumpkin pie! I'm eating mine at work right now (my mid-morning snack!) with a dollop of whipped cream on top (I like my rice pudding cold) and it's wonderful! It makes quite a bit with almost no effort.

Sausage Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
Man alive was this fantastic! Instead of bulk sausage, I used pre-cooked turkey sausage, which is lower fat and gave it a fabulous taste! I added sliced carrots and shredded zucchini. I hate zucchini and shredding it into the casserole, I didn't even taste it but I got the veggies I needed!. Great for picky kids! Very easy to make too! I doubled the batch and put half in the freezer.

Grilled Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Holy smokes! This is a great recipe! Makes amazing broccoli, I almost ate them all myself! I made them in the oven (it's winter and soooo cold outside!) so I put them in a 400 degree oven for 17 minutes and it roasted them to perfection! This would actually probably work well with cauliflower & asparagus too.

Sausage, Peppers and Onions

Excellent and SO easy! I used bratwurst sausage and used 1/2 bag of large shelled pasta and mixed it all together and served it with salad. Yum!

Frosted Corn Flake Cereal Clusters

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
These are great but I feel like I completely changed the recipe but I loved (so did my co-workers)the way they turned out. I used chocolate chips (didn't have butterscotch) and used about 5 cups of regular corn flakes and they were well coated. I can't imagine these with the frosted flakes - my teeth shatter thinking about it. They stay nice & crunchy but you need to keep them in the fridge if the weather's even remotely warm because they melt easily.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
SO Good! You do have to love Balsamic vinegar for this one but luckily we do! I tossed in 4 different coloured peppers in while simmering and it was just incredible.

Sliced Tomatoes with Fresh Herb Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
It is a good recipe but I definitely agree that you need some red wine vinegar. I ate it right away but think it would have been better had it marinated for a bit. Watch out for the garlic since it's fresh, it packs quite a bite!

Seven Layer Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
This recipe is so much fun!! I made it for a birthday at work to go with the cake mainly because I wanted to see what it looked like and it turned out beautifully! I tell you adults love it! I made it in a casserole dish and the 7 layers filled it to the top but the layers were thinner and would look better if they were thicker. But with a layer of whipped topping on the top was yummy! Next time I'm going to make them in wine glasses for individual desserts! You could do so many colour combinations for different holidays! I also put each layer in the freezer for about 25 minutes, which cut down on the time quite a bit.

A very nice change to the traditional spaghetti sauce. The soup adds a very interesting flavour! I added garlic and a little red wine vinegar for a kick.

Sweet Potato Chimichangas

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
I made these when I went to visit my brother's family for Easter. I made rolled them 2 days before we left and deep fried them for about 2 minutes just before serving them. They were awesome! I found it VERY difficult to roll them like the instructions said so I spread the filling on thick and rolled them up like you would deli meat for a tray, which turned out much better. I used toothpicks to keep their shape. I served them with whipped cream and they were amazing!

Too bitter for me. I would've had to add a lot of sugar or honey to make it better.

Tender Barbecued Chicken

Reviewed: May 24, 2002
I used chicken drumsticks and served over egg noodles which was good. I found it a little bit rich - I might suggest using a little less BBQ sauce and adding some water or more coke.

Pumpkin Cheese Bread II

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
I didn't have the size pans needed so I made muffins! They turned out well by baking them at 325 for 25 minutes (probably could've used only 20 mins). I put too much pumpkin batter at the bottom so I would lessen that next time because I didn't have enough to put on the top and the cream cheese batter ended up baking at the top, which wasn't horrible but if it were hidden in between the layers, it would've had more of a cheese cake consistency. In summary, these were DELISH!
