Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
Yummy and very easy to make. I used them in crepes but they would be good on top of anything to do with breakfast (pancakes, waffles etc.). I added more cinnamon (it's my favourite spice) but otherwise kept the recipe the same.

Basic Crepes

Excellent crepes. As others suggested, I added a tsp of vanilla and a few tsp's of sugar to make dessert crepes and they turned out perfectly!

Crunchy Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
Excellent! Didn't change a thing! Left out the noodles till it's about to be eaten or for lunch the next day so they wouldn't get soggy. Love this salad!

Basic Microwave Risotto

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Thank the stars above for this amazing and quick risotto!! I used apple juice instead of the wine and it was fabulous! It does leave a strong taste so if you're not too keen on the AJ or wine, reduce the amount a little. Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
Wonderful recipe! I use cream of mushroom soup instead and usually add chunks of potatoes, carrots, onions etc to the pot to cook along with the meat and dinner's completely done when you get home! My kinda meal!

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Delish! I had never made biscotti before and for some reason thought it was hard to do but it was easy and this recipe is amazing! I drizzled the top with green and red coloured icing for Christmas and they were a hit at my work's potluck.

Chewy Brownie Cookies

Anyone who remotely likes chocolate MUST try these! They are to die for! The only thing I changed was using margarine instead of shortening (that's all I had) and they turned out wonderfully!

Kielbasa Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
Very good but I think next time I'll use a can of tomato sauce and a can of diced or crushed tomatoes instead of the tomato soup.

Amazing! I poured it over steamed cauliflower, then sprinkled cheddar cheese and broiled it in the oven. Delish!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
Wonderful! Turned out perfectly. I added wheat germ (for nutritional value) and you couldn't even taste it. I served mine with sliced bananas and froze the leftovers, which were great popped in the microwave for a few seconds a few days later.

Garlic Butter Sauce I

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
Delicious!! I had leftovers the next day and after re-heating, the little voice in my head told me to add some sour cream (sounds strange, I know) so I did and wow!! There were only enough leftovers for me, but my husband grabbed a fork and couldn't stop eating it!

Thick Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
The taste was there but the next day after being in the fridge, it had a consistency that I couldn't get past. It was hard to describe - thick and sort of rubbery.

Sausage Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
Man alive was this fantastic! Instead of bulk sausage, I used pre-cooked turkey sausage, which is lower fat and gave it a fabulous taste! I added sliced carrots and shredded zucchini. I hate zucchini and shredding it into the casserole, I didn't even taste it but I got the veggies I needed!. Great for picky kids! Very easy to make too! I doubled the batch and put half in the freezer.

Instant Pistachio Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
My mom has been making this ever since I can remember but there's a few changes that she does to her recipe and I find it works well. DON'T drain the pineapple. Instead, dissolve the pudding powder into the pineapple and juice then add the rest as well as a can of mandarin oranges (drained). So good!

Pumpkin Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
I found this recipe very easy to make. I added each spice individually and didn't have trouble with them clumping but I did add the hot liquid to the eggs before pouring in and found that worked out okay. I also changed the milk to 3 1/2 cups instead of 4 and cooked it for 25 minutes and it was perfect. It tastes wonderful, just like a pumpkin pie! I'm eating mine at work right now (my mid-morning snack!) with a dollop of whipped cream on top (I like my rice pudding cold) and it's wonderful! It makes quite a bit with almost no effort.

Sausage and Sauerkraut Casserole

This is wonderful! The sauerkraut gives it a really interesting taste. I wasn't crazy about the sausage (not much of a fan) and will use kielbasa next time... definitely a keeper!
