Pasta Salad with Homemade Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2014
This is a 5-star salad in this house, and it has a fabulous dressing! I used all the ingredients, except the black olives, as we are not fans of those. You really do need to let this cure for the 8 hours to achieve the maximum flavor. This makes a large amount, which is what I wanted for lunches during the week. I liked how the the flavors and the texture held up nicely for the 4 days it lasted. Definitely will be a repeat in our house. Thanks, BONNIES for sharing your recipe.

Touchdown Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2014
Loved this pizza! I had a pouch of pizza dough that you added water and let rise for 10 minutes. It made for a super quick crust. I used medium wing sauce and it was plenty warm for me. Loved the addition of the thinly sliced celery on the pizza. I used bleu cheese crumbles on my portion of the pizza and feta on my bleu cheese disliking hubby's side of the pizza. Both of us were very pleasantly pleased with our pizza. Thanks Saveur, for sharing your recipe! I know we will be making this one again. Can't wait to try it with homemade crust.

Spicy Watermelon Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2014
Recipe Group Selection: 05, July 2014 ~ A unique combination of ingredients and taste. I didn't have rice wine vinegar, so I used rice vinegar, and only had regular basil. Even with those two subs, we enjoyed this salad. It had heat the night I made it, but it had a lot more heat the following day from the Sriracha®. The color combinations from the watermelon and tomatoes made for a nice serving presentation. Thanks, Doug for sharing.

Smashed Cauliflower Side Dish

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
Wonderful alternative to mashed potatoes. I used a big head of fresh cauliflower as opposed to the frozen packages. I just boiled for 9 minutes and drained. I let mine drain in the colander for about 6-7 minutes and didn't have any problems with watery vegetables. After adding the butter, salt and pepper and garlic right in the pan, I used the immersion blender to blend the cauliflower. It went really well 'San Francisco Pork Chops' and 'Chik-Fil-A® Slaw' both AR recipes.

San Francisco Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
Great way to prepared a boneless pork chop! My husband and I loved the taste of this recipe. I used low sodium soy sauce, so I did not experience the saltiness some of the reviews mentioned. When I returned the chops (1 1/2" thickness) to the pan, I simmered for 10 minutes on each side and they were perfectly done. To thicken the sauce, I added a little Wondra® and it was the consistency I was looking for. Served these with 'Smashed Cauliflower Side Dish' and 'Chik-Fil-A® Slaw (Copycat)' both from AR. The meal was delicious and I will be using this recipe again.

Pesto Spinach and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2014
I really enjoyed this. Had some spinach to use up and when I typed in 'sauteed spinach' this is the recipe that appeared. It was delicious and loaded with flavor. I like that the tomatoes go in at the end so they remain firm. VBM, great recipe that I will be using again as I always have spinach on hand.

Wilted Lettuce with Bacon

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2014
Made this with our first lettuce from the garden. It was not a head of red leaf, but instead a mixture of red and green leaf lettuce. It was better than we both were anticipating. You do have to be careful when adding the buttermilk as it wants to curdle. I did add a little Wondra® as a thickening agent rather than the flour at the end.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2014
WOW - DELICIOUS! I cut the recipe down to only make 5 biscuits. So glad I did as it is very hard to stop with only one! Great recipe that I will be using again.

Chicken Caesar Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2014
Delicious Caesar salad that we all enjoyed. We had company at the lake and roasted a whole chicken. The salad was a great dish to go with it. In fact, we liked it so well, and I had leftover pasta, we had it again the second day for lunch. Very quick and easy to put together. This makes for a very nice summer time meal. Usually I would make homemade Caesar dressing, but the quickness and ease, since we were on vacation and had company, I used a store bought bottle.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2014
LOVE this granola recipe. I made a half batch to see if we would like the consistency of this granola. I made it as written and used the dried cranberries rather than the raisins, so my DH would eat it. I also added a few dried bananas to the mix. My DH and I enjoy this granola added to our morning yogurt. I even enjoy it just as a bowl of cereal. annie9, this is a wonderful recipe, and I appreciate you sharing it.

No-Mayonnaise Ranch Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2014
Not being huge fans of ranch dressing, my husband and I both enjoyed this dressing. We used it on 'Hot n' Spicy Buffalo Chicken Salad' from AR and it complimented the salad really well. I liked the low-fat sour cream as opposed to the mayonnaise in the dressing. Do make it up early so the flavors can meld. Taste before using and add additional seasoning to your liking. I made up half a batch and wouldn't hesitate to use this recipe again.

Steakhouse Ribs - New York Style

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
Loved the flavor of these ribs, although I did change the cooking method. I cut the ribs into sections and pulled off the back membrane. I then added the rub and wrapped in foil and baked at 225° for 2 hours. After that point, DH put them on the grill and then proceeded with the recipe. The flavor is great, and I do plan on making these again, but will continue to use my baking/grilling method.

Grilled Corn with Cilantro Lime Butter

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
We love corn prepared on the grill. This butter gave the corn a delicious fresh taste. We also used the leftover butter on some garlic bread and grilled fish. Thanks, BritanyRachelle for sharing your recipe. It is a winner in our house!

Awesome Red Pepper Hummus Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
YUM! Really enjoyed this hummus recipe. After 4 stores, I finally found tahini, it's a big jar so I know I will be making this one again. I could not find jarred roasted red peppers, so I roasted my own. I don't care for the hulls that are on the garbanzo beans, so I pulled them off before starting with the recipe. I put everything in the food processor and it blended to the perfect consistency. The next time, I'm going to try adding some cayenne pepper and/or cumin to give it a bit of heat. This recipe is wonderful, thanks for sharing, kymberly!

Italian Drunken Noodles

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
Delicious pasta dish! Having an open bottle of Pinot Grigio that needed to be used (I don't like it to drink, but like to cook with it) I remembered this recipe that Saveur talked about. I mixed up the sauce portion earlier in the day, and reheated it at dinner time when I had the pasta hot. I couldn't find pappardelle pasta, so I used penne. The next time I'm going to try this recipe with Italian diced canned tomatoes for additional flavor. Served this with corn on the cob and a tossed salad. We enjoyed a very nice dinner.

Picnic Marinated Summer Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
Recipe Group Selection: 21, June 2014 ~ Great slaw! I added the optional green pepper and used apple cider vinegar rather than white vinegar. Mine marinated for about 4 hours before dinner. It was delicious and we both loved it. I had a 16 oz. bag of slaw and measured out the 10 oz. After having dinner, there was enough dressing left with the remaining slaw that I added the last 6 oz. of cabbage. Served this with 'Cheddar Bacon Hamburger with Horseradish' and 'Awesome Red Pepper Hummus Dip' both from AR and fresh veggies and fruit.

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers with Horseradish

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
Recipe Group Selection: 28, June 2014 ~ This was a very good burger, but I thought with the horseradish, cheddar cheese and bacon it would have even more flavor than what it did. I cooked bacon and crumbled it rather than using bacon bits. The heat temp and cooking times were spot on with our grill. Next time, I'm going to up the horseradish to 3 tablespoons. I served this with 'Picnic Marinated Summer Slaw' and 'Awesome Red Pepper Hummus Dip' both from AR and fresh veggies and fruit. We both really enjoyed our dinner tonight.

Banana Pineapple Green Blend

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2014
This was a nice way to start the morning. I used skim milk rather than soy as that is what I had on hand. The banana and pineapple added a nice sweetness to the smoothie without the banana overpowering the flavor.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
Delicious! We have loved all of Mrs. Siggs' recipes, so far. No exception to this cookie. It baked up nice and airy, yet chewy on the outside. I used my cookie scoop to form and drop in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Worked perfectly. Definitely will be using this recipe again, so, so good!
