Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
These are ok first time around, but the batter is way too thick and 2 TABLESPOONS??? of vanilla is crazy, so I suggest 1 1/3 cups flour and 1 2/3 cups milk and 1 TEASPOON of vanilla. We ate them with strawberrys and the vanilla was overpowering and I love vanilla. They smell good while cooking and dont stick at all. Will re-try next week with less flour more milk and see how it goes. Couldnt just tip the pan to spread had to literally spread them.

Chemical Apple Pie (No Apple Apple Pie)

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
This was ok and tasty for what it was but I was shocked to find that people tasted apple.... cinnamon yes but not apple, lol. The version I have of this is 50+ yrs old and used apple juice not water. Otherwise was the same... and tasted like cinnamon and APPLES. Lol!

Whitefish Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
I have tasted better but dont have that recipe LOL, but this one is pretty darn good. Sorry for repeating myself, in the #3 direction. I was typing while listening to a comedian... I sometimes use vegetable broth instead of the chicken broth, it works great as well.

Traditional Scottish Style Beef Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
Exactly what I was looking for, now if you make baking powder biscuit dough and drop by spoonful on top of stew, cover and simmer 20-25 minutes, you have dumplings. Great flavor, I made it ahead for dinner tomorrow. Cant wait.

Fried Cornmeal Mush

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Awesome! The slices fried til golden on both sides served with breakfast sausage and syrup. Yummy. I grew up calling this Hon Mas. I read some reviews, if you made it right its like a very thick gritty jello consistencey, I cut mine just about a half inch thick. Turns out perfect and I never flour to fry.

Irish Boxty

This is also extremely Scotish as well as the little poem, both are in a 1937 school text book from Scotland from an elderly relative. Very exciting to find the recipe here, thanks for sharing.

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
This is just like the one I already made but the measurements were different, It made more topping so that was a plus. For a twist, add butterscotch chips to the apples and you have a caramel apple crisp, kids love it.
