Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Awesome easy recipe -- did great in bread machine. Hold up great to may saucy sloppy Joe's. Next time I am gonna substitute 1-1/2 cups of ap flour for whole wheat.

Uncle White's Bread Machine Rolls

I have made this a couple times now. Rolled small or large they taste great. Trying it with 2 cup bread flour and 1 cup whole wheat. Looks the same in the machine hope it comes out great too!!

The Best Meatballs

great recipe -- I don't use veal b/c its not available. 50/50 pork & beef works great. I made huge batch and frozen them. I did make them kinda small so I an use they for quick meat ball sub dinner. :)

Apple Crisp II

great recipe -- the type of apple should be Granny Smith or anouther Baking apple. -- all purpose of pretty vague. Softer apples will fall apart & don't need as much bake time or sugar. I made it with 4 granny smith & 2 fiji & it was awesome. whole oats work great too. :)

Creamy Hot Cocoa

very rich -- made it with whole milk and skipped half/half at end.. I didn't have any vanilla left so I used almond extract.. Tasted awesome and rich.. much more chocolate flavor than the packets or canister stuff

Chicken Pot Pie IX

This recipe is a great find. -- A little plain for my family so I add 1 heaping tsp minced garlic & 1/2 tsp thyme. I don't always have the time so I cheat and use left over cooked turkey/chicken & 2 cups of frozen ( thawed) carrots, peas & corn.. Really a time saver. I did notice that if I completely cool filling first & I make sure the vents are really open the bottom crust doesn't get soggy.

Udon Peanut Butter Noodles

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Very good recipe making for 2nd time -- Just realized its almost identical recipe found on jar of Grandmas Molasses -- Called Molasses Crinkles. -- jar recipe calls for Crisco instead of butter/margarine and a little less flour. Comes great but I never get 2 dozen unless i make cookies small.

I make this often -- didn't realize they had an actual recipe for it -- I don't use jar sauce -- Just a can of crushed tomatoes & a big handful of basil from the garden. ( I never tried corn either but sounds good -- a can of red beans works well.)

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Great start -has good ratios but you must brown onions or soup will taste like beef broth.. -- buy low salt broth too so soup doesn't get salty as it reduces.. I used 2 chicken broth and 1 beef.. would be good with high end veggie broth too.

Pizza Dough III

Great basic recipe -- Next time I will need to double it--- way to small. I so need to grocery shop and this is a fast life saver. Topped with half jar sauce, half bag frozen sliced peppers onions, mozzarella & parm. Yummy. I used cornmeal on sheet tray instead of spray.

super fast and easy -- made sauce to put in shrimp and chicken tenders on grill -- I love garlic so I minced 3 smaller cloves and instead of water I put 2 tablespoons of OJ. Definately a recipe to save

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

I thought it was great -- I used vanilla & almond extract -- The 1 start people may have over mixed it once the dry stuff is added. Rubber consistancy when baking is usually over mixing!! Pound cake is made with 1 lb of butter/sugar/flour -- that's how its name

Cream Cheese Frosting II

yummy-- very cream chees flavor & definatley better than the store bought -- stuff. Real butter makes it better -- too. I also added 2 tablespoons of carmel topping for carmel cream cheese frosting on some boring sugar cookies -- with a little finely chopped nuts-- (looks super fancy -- but really super easy) :)

The Supreme Shepherd's Pie

growing up my mom made this 2-3 times a month -- she used left over grilled hamburgers ( chopped), left over steak, ground beef or pork -- what ever left overs gravey or a jar of gravey, box of green beans. The best part was the crusty garlic mashed potatoes on top.
