About this Cook
I love to talk, ask around they'll concur. More often than not it's at a fast pace as my brain tends to go faster than I can form the words. Picture a toddler learning to run and the top half getting ahead of the bottom...you get the idea. I think coffee is a necessity, something I would take to a deserted island. The caffeine, smell, taste, caffeine, all of it. I'm a foodie. I love to sit and watch the Food Network and wish that I had all the ingredients just listed so I could smell and TASTE what was just created! I cook with my hubby and we tend to try and steal the cooking from one another. New recipe...bring it on ~ well unless it only has a 1 star review!
My favorite things to cook
Baklava ~ this is always something that impresses. It takes time but is deliciously easy. Griling ~ nothing beats that charred flavor. We love fresh veggies, fruit, chicken and more on the grill!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making ginger bread cookies with my girls . We end up with more flour on our faces than on the board. They love every part of the process.
My cooking triumphs
Slowly teaching my two girls to be comfortable in the kitchen. Brineing a whole turkey - it was amazing!
My cooking tragedies
When I was younger I was trying to make home made ice cream for my family. I read the 3 tsp of salt as 3 tbsp. Oh my that was not a good thing. We're not so great at steak...we love to eat them just can't seem to get them right.

Oven-Grilled Chicken and Vegetables
I used salted and peppered chicken thighs as these veggies tend to lack seasoning. Since it's summer I grilled out and put the veggies in a foil pouch with 1/2 tsp garlic powder and onion powder. Love the ease of the product but would love more seasoning.

Vanilla Ice Cream V
I have never made ice cream with out eggs! Turned out amazing. We stirred in sliced strawberries at the end before freezing hard. Great recipe!

Rhubarb Custard Pie VI
Good recipe! I had about 5 cups of rhubarb so I added a splash (about 1/4 C) milk and an extra egg, I also added 1 tsp vanilla. Fantastic dessert. I served it cold and it was a hit, even to those with a bad idea of what rhubarb tastes like. Also I already had 2 refrigerated pie crusts so I used those instead.
