Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Chicken
We made the following changes to the recipe: Used cut fryer pieces instead of breast halves, used 1 1/2 bottles BBQ sauce (Kraft Honey BBQ), omitted the onion and bell pepper, substituted Garlic salt for the cloves, and only used half the pineapple juice. Also cooked it for 6 hours instead of 9.
The chicken pieces came out juicy and thoroughly cooked, and while not spectacular, it was OK.
Even though we reduced the liquids, the sauce was very thin and we think the pineapple chunks detracted from the sauce. Maybe crushed or tidbit pineapple next time. We served it over rice with sweet corn on the side. Not going to be in a hurry to make it again, but I've had worse.
