About this Cook
I love to cook, I experiment with recipes making them my own. I baked my first cake at 7yrs and cooked a full Caribbean Sunday lunch at 12 yrs. My joy is to eat out and try to recreate the dish at home.
My favorite things to cook
Bread and cakes are my favourite things to cook but I love a challenge so I will try almost anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom baked fresh bread every Saturday when I was a child. She loves to feed people and like her my pot can expand to feed all who come to the table.
My cooking triumphs
finally getting the bread making thing right after many failed attempts. I can now throw down a batch f bread with my eyes closed.
My cooking tragedies
one of my earlier cakes looked like what's left after a volcano erupts... a crater. My Dad said "egg, butter, sugar and flour is cake.. make another" I did and and here I am today.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant
I nervously mixed the ingredients.. this was my first fondant. Superb results. I will try this again.

Coconut Shrimp I
The absolute best. They walked off the platter. I battered and dipped and refrigerated for an hour. I did'nt have sweetened flaked coconut, it is not always available here in the Caribbean, so I used fresh grated coconut. Yum. Yum.

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I
to avoid flattening the rolls when cutting, use a length of thread, place under the roll where you want to cut it holding the ends. Tie a knot... easy as pie.
