BBQ Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2003
This is a great weeknight recipe that we make at least twice a month! Sometimes we use the Pillsbury pizza crust dough and other times, we make our own. But either way, it is delicious. NOTE: The best way I've found to pre-cook the chicken is to place each breast in the center of a square piece of aluminum foil and sprinkle on both sides with salt (and pepper, if desired). Fold up the sides of the foil to form a sealed packet. Place the packets on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. The chicken will come out moist and delicious. Simply cube the chicken and it is ready to add to your recipes (chicken salad, chicken ala king, etc).

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2002
If follwed as written, this recipe is AWESOME! (I'm a little puzzled how people can change the recipe substantially by substituting ingredients, and expect the same quality in a recipe. Butter and real eggs are what make it good! Duh.) I have tried just about every 5 star chocolate chip cookie recipe on this site and this one is still the best!!

Szechuan Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2000
Easy and good, though not quite spicy enough for my taste. I increased the red pepper and garlic, and added grated fresh ginger. Instead of using vegetable oil, try using sesame oil instead. My family really liked this dish and requested I make it again.

Baked Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2001
Homerun!!! This recipe is YUMMY and EASY!!! Everytime I take it somewhere, people ask for the recipe. I made this sauce as well as the brandied orange cranberry sauce from allrecipes.com and this one was the overwhelming favorite....and so much easier to make. This will be my standard cranberry sauce from now on.

Chocolate Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2001
I hate to be the only negative reviewer, but I have to say that this recipe is only average. Easy to make and looks impressive in a trifle bowl, but truthfully, the overall taste is a bit unsophisticated. Also, the ingredients are too much to fit in a standard 3 qt trifle bowl. One package of pudding and 1 tub of cool whip would have been plenty. The best part was the kahlua soaked cake. Maybe I'll try this again but use a homemade pudding and real whip cream instead.

Quick and Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2002
I was a bit skeptical that something this easy could be so good. But the cobbler was delicious and definitely the easiest I've ever made. I did add 1/4 tsp nutmeg and 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the flour mixture AND sprinkled additional cinnamon on top. Yummy served warm with vanila ice cream!

Better Than Brad Pitt Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2000
I made this for a summer cook out. It was well received by all and several people commented on how it was a light, perfect summer dessert. I added chopped pecans on top, along with the toasted coconut. I also substituted reduced fat nondairy whipped topping instead of the whipped cream.

Savory Bubble Bread

This recipe was okay, but it didn't blow me away. I will stick to the sweet version of bubble bread.

Linda's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2002
Terrific! I used light mayo and reduced-fat sour cream and still got great results. I'm a blue cheese fanatic, so I doubled the amount of blue cheese.

Irish Cream Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2001
Delicious! Made this for the holidays and it disappeared fast....people just kept eating and eating! The only problem I had was using the 8X8 dish, which resulted in a very thick fudge. I had problems with it breaking and ending up wasting a lot when cutting it. Next time, I'll try a 9X9 dish. Great recipe, very addictive!

Rum and Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2002
Excellent! I used Capt. Morgan's spiced rum and reduced the amount to 1/4 cup. This is a more sophisticated, complex tasting version of sweet potato casserole. I will never make the marshmallow version again. Thanks Casey for sharing this terrific recipe!

Better Than Sex Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2000
This makes a great summer dessert. Sweet, but not too heavy or filling. Everyone liked it and I will make again. I toasted the coconut for the topping. Also, I reduced the amount of milk in the pudding to 1.5 cups instead of 2 for a thicker pudding.

This recipe was a hit at my most recent dinner party. Next time, I will reduce the butter by about half. According to my date, "this one is a keeper."

Fruit Dip II

Yummy and easy, perfect for a potluck or party. People are usually amazed at how simple it is. I add a tsp or so of orange juice, which helps to blend the ingredients more easily.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2003
Great cookie! Thanks for sharing the recipe! Note about Mexican Vanilla: There are two types, real and synthetic. Real, genuine, pure Mexican Vanilla is AMAZING but not cheap (unless you happen to be in Mexico and can pick some up). The synthetic usually comes in huge bottles and is dirt cheap. The flavor is not good, in my opinion. AND some synthetic vanillas have coumarin in them, which has been banned by the FDA. The real stuff has a high alcohol content and is amber in color. The synthetic stuff is black in color, almost opaque, and doesn't have the high alcohol content.

Blue Ribbon Sugar Cookies

Sugar cookie perfection! Delicious taste and so easy to make! The only change I made was to switch the amounts for the vanilla and lemon extracts (1.5 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp lemon). I could eat a whole dozen of these, easy!
