About this Cook
I love to cook and have a crowd that loves to eat! I basically cook without a recipe - I cook to taste. I love recipe books and have a ton of them. When I do use recipes, I tend to tweak every one I use just a little.
My favorite things to cook
Brunswick stew over a big wood fire in a cast iron cauldron, cakes, garlic cheese grits, anything in the crock pot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Southern cooking and baking.
My cooking triumphs
Making wedding cakes for family and friends.
My cooking tragedies
A carrot cake from one of those local church cookbooks. Must have been major typos in that recipe!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker
The ingredients in this recipe were great and the roast turned out very tasty. My only complaint is that it needs to cook on HIGH for 4 hours, not LOW. Luckily I read the reviews before I started so it helped me get my dinner done on time. I also used a meat thermometer just to double check myself. Ingredient wise, I added a can of mushrooms. I have some left over so I was thinking about using the broth to make a gravy for mashed potatoes for tonight.

Ham, Potato and Broccoli Casserole
I changed up a few things with this recipe. Instead of French fries, I used Simply Potatoes diced potatoes with onion (in the refrigerated section of the store), added some dill to the soup mixture, and used sharp shredded cheese instead of parmesan. Not greasy at all! Great comfort food and a wonderful change from chicken and beef.
