Spicy Crispy Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2004
Wonderful sauce which is now my favourite. You don't have to deep fry the beef for the same results. I stir fried the beef in my wok in batches with about a cup of oil.

Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2004
Pretty good, but the bacon was not completely cooked. I would suggest cooking if half way and using the bacon fat instead of the butter for flavor. My whole family enjoyed this recipie.

Good but the potatoes make it a bit too heavy.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2004
I cut back the sugar to 1/3 cup and will scale back to 1/4 c next time. It just doesn't need all that refined sugar. I also substituted pecans and baked them in a 350 oven for 15 min. instead of frying them in butter. What can I say, wonderful. My kids didn't care for the almonds and cranberrys, but what do they know about great cuisine. Thanks.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2004
Not quite sure what all the fuss is about, but I found this just okay. The crust stuck to the oiled pizza pan and was a bit of a mess to lift off. May try a hot stone with it again.

Baked Beans, Texas Ranger

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2003
Very good taste, but far too runny. I would recommend removing the cover after 30 minutes to thicken it up. I put it back in the oven at 400 degrees for another 15 min. and consistency and flavor was much better.

Southern Grilled Barbecued Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2003
Really quite good. I added 1 tsp. cornstarch mixed with 1 tsp. cold watter to the boiling sauce to thicken it up. Also, half way through the baking, instead of basting, I drained the vinegar and brushed on the bbq sauce for the last 20 minutes and recovered with the foil. This infused the flavor of the bbq sauce into the meat much better. The bbq sauce recipie makes enough for a second batch. Kids and hubby loved it.

Skillet Herbed Chicken with Mustard

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2003
This was a nice recipie, but not deserving of five stars. I liked it, my husband said it was okay and neither of my kids liked it.

Greek Style Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2003
WOW, all I can say is these are far better than any greek restaurant's lemon roasted potatoes. I cut back the water by half and two hours was perfect, and I tossed them three times during the cooking process. Thank you Cathie!!!

Apple Bundt Cake

Just a basic spice cake with chopped apples. I'm the only one in the house that would eat it. Kids wouldn't touch it.

A good basic recipie, not too sure what all the rave was about. My kids wouldn't eat it until I scraped all the sauce off.

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2003
This was average. I added 1 tbsp. cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp. water to the sauce before baking and it thickened fairly well, but wasn't anything like it was raved to be. I liked that it was fast and that's why I gave it a 3 instead of a 2. Won't make again.

Cranberry Pork Roast

Meat didn't have much flavour. Gravy was pretty good, but my kids didn't like it and ate the meat plain. Wouldn't make this one again.

Jack Wilson's Slaw Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2002
This recipie was terrible. I only used three tablespoons of celery seed because that's all I had. My kids spit it out. My husband had one bite and wouldn't eat it. The celery seed bitterness spoiled a lot of good cabbage.
