Grecian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2005
This was delicious. I didn't use the full 6 T of oregano, as it seemed like it would be overpowering. I used maybe half the amount and it was very flavourful and moist. So simple and everyone always loves it.

Hearty Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2005
This was so good, and really easy to make. My kids didn't like it, but they aren't fussy on foods that are mixed together (ok, so they're weird!). My husband and I really enjoyed it, and we were able to use a lot of leftover ham. The only thing I changed, was using cheddar cheese instead of processed. Great comfort food.

Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2005
This was a huge hit at my brunch yesterday. I let the cream cheese soften, and then spread it on the slices of bread (I used challah rather than Italian bread), and then cubed it. I found the blueberry sauce more sweet than flavourful, so I added the zest of one lemon and some lemon juice, which gave it more of a kick. Everyone loved it!

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
This was ok, but nothing special. It was a little on the bland side. Not sure if I'd make it again.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
We all loved this recipe. The only thing I changed, was using Dijon mustard rather than prepared, and I briefly sauteed the mushrooms. It was very filling, but it was delicious.

Penne and Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2004
This was fantastic! There were so few ingredients, that I thought it would be mediocre at best, but it was delicious. I had to use regular bacon, because it's what I had on hand, but other than that, didn't change anything. The whole family loved it.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2004
I'm so glad I finally tried this recipe. I followed the suggstions given by the submitter, and used cheddar Ritz crackers. I also brushed the top with a little hickory BBQ sauce. It was a very tasty meatloaf. I didn't have trouble with it holding together at all. I did cook it for the full hour.

Barley Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2004
This was delicious. Due to nut allergies, I replaced the pine nuts with diced carrots, and for more flavour, I used beef broth instead of vegetable broth. It made a beautiful sidedish for the brisket I made, and aside from the kids, everyone loved it. A healthier and better alternative to rice, and I'll be making this often.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2004
This was really good. I was looking for something very simple for our Rosh Hashanah dinner, that both adults and kids would like. This was it. I used chicken breasts, left out the curry (knew the kids would hate it), and used Dijon rather than prepared mustard. It smelled wonderful when it was cooking, and the end result was delicious.

Calico Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2004
Holy moly, was this ever good! I also skipped the boiling process, and sauteed the veggies until tender crisp. I also skipped the pimentos, as they didn't appeal to me, and I knew the kids would refuse to eat it. It was the best way we've used our zucchini so far. I would have eaten it as a main dish. My younger one wouldn't eat it, and my 9 yr old ate it, but didn't run for seconds. My husband and my mother both ate seconds and there was hardly anything left. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Grilled Orange-and-Bourbon Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2004
I made this recipe several weeks ago, and forgot to rate it. I didn't have bourbon, so I used some whiskey instead. I was a little worried while it marinated, as the whiskey aroma was very strong, but the fish turned out wonderfully. It was very moist and tasty, and we all loved it.

Surprise South Beach Mashed 'Potatoes'

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2004
As the recipe is written, I'd give it 4 stars, but tonight I used my turkey bacon allowance, cooked it, chopped it and added it to the cauliflower. It was delicious! My 4 yr old even asked for seconds.

Blueberry Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2004
This recipe was quite good. I read the reviews and decided to use 3/4 cup of sugar, and I'm glad I did. Any more than that, and I can't imagine the pie would be edible. I used tart cherries, and the pie was still quite sweet.

Rib Eye Steaks with a Soy and Ginger Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2004
This was a wonderful marinade. I used it with flank steaks, and marinated them overnight. They turned out so tender and juicy. I wouldn't use dried ginger...go for fresh, because I think it would really change the recipe.

Little Meat Loaves

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
These were quite tasty. I agree that there is a lot of fat at the bottom of the pan, and I even used extra lean ground beef. My kids enjoyed the meat, but not the glaze. I actually liked them better cold the next day.

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
How can something so simple, be so delicious? After all the compliments, I have decided to claim this potato as mine (sorry DWAGNER!) ;) I used new red potatoes and just quartered them. The second time I made it, I had no celery, so I chopped up some sour dill pickles, and really enjoyed the flavour. This is going to be my only potato salad recipe, as in my family, traditional potato salad is the only way.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: May 13, 2004
We loved this recipe. Very easy to make, and incredibly tasty. I read the reviews and based on some of them, made more of the sauce, which we ate on the side with the fish, and mixed in with our rice...yum! Not a kid friendly dish, but hey, in my house, not much is.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: May 11, 2004
Fantastic recipe! The chicken came out wonderfully moist and tender, and the breading had excellent flavour. Not the healthiest way to prepare chicken, but definitely worth the extra calories!

Black Bean and Corn Salad II

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2004
Everyone loved this salad. I added slightly more lime, and after tasting the dressing, decided to add some cumin and oregano, which gave it a nice kick. I thought I'd have tons left over, but alas, it was all gone by the end of the meal. This will be great when the weather gets warm.

Passover Rolls I

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2004
These were pretty good. I thought they were rather difficult to work with, as the dough is very sticky. They had more like a cream puff shell consistency, but were still nice.
